When I was a child I would fish with my father and my family on our boat out of the Nissequogue and into the Sound. When I had my own children, I would bring them to the shop, and the guys there would give us tips about where to fish, what tackle would be best, times and tides.... etc. When I bought my first boat... there they were again... never pushing tackle, often encouraging me to buy great tackle without the gold plating, tackle that I've had for years and caught tons of fluke and stripers with, and saved me a ton of money. On the rare occasion I had a problem with anything, they took care of it... no fuss! My sons are nearly grown men now, they'll probably bring their kids there too! I've visited Causeway several times over the last few weeks and the guys at this tackle shop have been amazing. After accidentally crushing an eyelet while closing my trunk, they did such a great job replacing the crushed and mangled piece that I can't even tell that a new eyelet had been been put on - it looks factory new. They also helped me pick out a new rod and reel that fit my needs and budget. Importantly, they listened to me, knowledgeably answered all my questions, helped me find items to meet my fishing needs, and didn't try to upsell me on items that were out of my price range.
