Cedar Creek Park is physically in Wantagh Park. This is such a special place. Words don’t do justice in describing how amazingly special these parks are. Ok let’s start with Wantagh park. Firstly they charge during the season. Drive all the way to the end. There are docks with many boats. There is an amazing area to jog or walk around with amazing views. I once saw a photo shoot here for clothing or something like that. They have so many areas there to eat at and a fun gazebo with a nice path leading to it. They have a water park which costs additional money. This place is huge which multiple courts and fields for every sport. There are many playgrounds here. There are two main areas where they are located. The main area has a lot of playgrounds which are spread out and outdated, but are still fun. Many of these playgrounds are on sand. I’m not sure if when you go to Cedar Creek after you need to pay again or if there is one entrance fee for both Cedar Creek and Wantagh Park because we never pay for parks. Now Cedar Creek Park has a lot there including archery. There playgrounds are arguably the best on long island which says a lot. The people there are so friendly and nice and chilled. They have a big hill there that my kid likes climbing up and...
Read moreI’ve lived in Long Island most of my life and never knew there was a park tucked alongside Robert Moses parkway south of Montauk Highway. I found it accidentally while looking up parks that has scenic bike trails and areas to rollerblade.
The park is far larger than I realized, with expansive grass areas and several playgrounds. There is a dedicated rollerblading area that is sectioned off but the paving of this could be improved significantly; still it is nice to have the option and is far better than most blacktop (outside of freshly paved roads).
There were several fields and sporting areas all of which looked to be in pretty good shape.
The bike trail is well paved and lined/laned and gives you a safe way to head down towards the beach areas. I only went a short stretch but is a nice setup that I don’t know if a lot of people are...
Read moreAmazingly huge and clean park. I take my kids to a summer camp there, and I got lost the first day from how big it is. It's beautiful with plenty of options. Soccer and football fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, outdoor racquetball courts, kids playgrounds, parking spots everywhere. So you can drop the kids and just indulge in an activity yourself. I see people having their duffel bags and indulging in what seems to be a full active day where they enjoy friends' company and stay fit. It's divided into various fields with parking areas around or close by each field. I am sure there are other things to enjoy there, but I haven't been around long enough to...
