Im a White Latina who went shopping at a predominantly Hispanic/Latino supermarket and I felt very uncomfortable during my shopping experience here. I noticed that the same employees were following me around. I went to about 3 different food aisles and the employees were staring me down while I was looking over which items I wanted to purchase. This is the most uncomfortable I ever felt. I don’t encounter this in New York City at all but this is taking place in Long Island (Nassau County). I don’t think or feel as if I’m a threatening person. I understand that security measures must be taken especially in a supermarket but if people realize that they are being watched while shopping, then that is wrong. Weekly specials are great...It's a smaller scale supermarket but all of your basics and most of your wants are available. EVERYONE is friendly, quick to help and they provide a free van service if you spend $50 or greater. The fish market inside is equally as fab. This should be a neighborhood...
