St. Paul's Recreation Complex — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

This annual event every November was a gigantic "garage sale" for The Andy Foundation in honor of a young boy who lost his life, so the turn out was incredible and very heart-felt. It moved me deeply to be a part of it all! The Recreation Center in Garden City is huge, and the layout of the different areas was done beautifully all around the perimeter with some tables with various pieces of fine china and crystal including Lenox, Lladro, Tiffany, and probably Waterford. There were several large, magnificent rugs laid out on the floor in the center. They had a myriad of sections from beautiful lamps to utterly stunning furniture to decorative pillows and linens to unusual decor and magnificent wreaths to sports equipment to framed pictures ...and on and on. As I approached the entrance, I heard, "I'm coming back!" from several obviously thrilled shoppers carrying their bounty! In fact, I had to go home to get a bigger vehicle (Well, it was for such a good cause!). The volunteers were warm, lovely, and very helpful. I felt they had a "mission!" I had so much fun; I'd love to volunteer for next year! There is a shop of the same name (The Andy Foundation) in Garden City Park. I'm going to visit next week....

👎👀👎👀Yeah the organization than ran the basketball tournament this weekend were horrible host. We won the championship today and they didn't want to give us our tshirts no congratulations nothing. They didn't get to do their team photo or anything. The guy took the box of tshirts and said they not getting anything. So one of our Coaches went bck inside to ask the guy was giving the team that lost the Championship tshirts we got wat was leftover that wasn't fare our boys worked very hard they practice even harder. It's not about them and whatever personal issues they have It's about the kids and they played hard this weekend.💪🏽💪🏽💯💯🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀Great job...

Absolutely fun and beautiful little park to go to. I enjoy walking around getting some exercise breathing in fresh air and seeing all the beautiful green grass. And it’s so big it’s absolutely amazing. It’s a great place to bring your friends and family and just relax and enjoy the day...
