Stay away!! I usually refrain from writing negative reviews and this can be seen from my other reviews which have already been seen by well over a million people. But I felt obligated to write something. We had a dinner with 10 friends at this place. When I saw 3.4 stars and 100+ sign it didn’t make any sense. But I didn’t make the decision to go there as I was just invited by a good friend to celebrate a good cause. I ordered a tomahawk to share with my partner. The quality of the piece was really bad. It was mostly fat very little actual red meat. But after eating some of the pre sliced pieces I wanted to remove some more meat from the long bone. And to my surprise it was literally smelling rotten. I couldn’t complain as I didn’t want to disappoint my friend but I went home and threw up 3-4 times and followed by diarrhea the next day. My partner experienced the same thing. The worst thing is I drive more than 3 hours to get there from upstate NY. Why would you feed something like that to your customer? Would you eat it yourself or feed it to your family member? Some of the other friends were also disappointed with the food. One returned it back as it was too cold. Service was patchy. You had to beg someone that will bring you water. I ended up walking to the bar from our table to get a glass of water. Overall pretty poor experience for me. I still would not have written a review, but having a food poisoning and as a medical doctor I can not knowingly just ignore it and let it happen to someone else too. So I would not go back.
Edit, it is very interesting to see that instead of asking what might have went wrong and maybe apologizing, the restaurant management blames customer for not being satisfied and not understanding the food quality. I have traveled 40 countries and have spent my whole life living in different countries tasting and experimenting different cuisines. I hope I understand what good meat supposed...
Read moreDisappointing experience here after 2 outstanding dinners at The Red Salt Room. We were excited to try David Burke’s more casual eatery. The bar and kitchen are the same so our expectations were high. The cocktails were delicious as always, but the service and the kitchen were uneven. For the price, we expected much better. Some members of the service team were very good, but others were clueless. For example the duo who brought out our entrees attempted to place our food in front of us while large, dirty appetizer plates were still in front of us. My husband ordered his burger without cheese, and with a side of avocado. The kitchen got both wrong and the food runners neglected to notice or apologize. The bacon on a clothesline came out barely above room temp. Both the steak entree and burger were undercooked. The burger is too large and greasy for the English muffin they serve it on. The French fries were undercooked and not hot. Had our server checked on us soon after the food was delivered, we could have rectified issues more quickly. The King Bar felt like the unloved stepchild. Clearly the emphasis is on pleasing diners in the...
Read moreThis is the third time I’ve been here. First two DYNAMITE. last night close to awful. Drink and water service took over ten minutes. Then took another ten to get. The oysters were good but the server only brought us half an order then brought other half ten minutes later. Tasty salad but took steak knife to cut. The bread basket that you pay for was so bad that it’s really laughable. Sliced stale bread and a popover so dense that you couldn’t even cut with a knife. I got the Wagyu which was well down. I ordered medium rare which I sent back While waiting for that to return I nibbled on my husbands ribeye which was really good. Which was good because my returned Wagyu was rare. Like not cooked. Mashed potatoes had to be instant but French fries awesome. The hostess Brittany was sweet and said the hotel was very busy with graduation which is fine. But I still had to pay for my dinner. And yes my under cooked steak which I took home. My advice. If your too busy. Don’t take a reservation and if you mess up someone’s dinner comp them. ...
