You are SAFE from Covid-10 at The Residence Inn , Henrietta/ROC! IT IS SPOTLESS AND SAFE DURING THIS PANDEMIC!
We travel with our 2 20 lb. dogs, and they're "fur friendly". More to the point: THIS visit.... was our first time travelling ANYWHERE, since returning home from the beach in FL. on 3/11/2020- the DAY the world's ๐ eyes were opened to THE PANDEMIC.We decided to visit Rochester,NY for my birthday ๐ weekend. We are fully immunized, and missing our family in ROC sooooo badly, we HAD TO GO. I read everything on the CDC & WHO websites re: domestic travel. I was absolutely SHOCKED that after wiping both remotes, all lamps and flat surfaces and all of the appliance handles and insides. THERE WASN'T A SPECK OF COLOR- NO DIRT, GRUNGE, NO BACTERIA IN EITHER ROOM OR THE BATHROOM! I mean ZERO indication that anyone had cut cleaning corners whatsoever! I'd packed antibacterial wipes, Lysol antibacterial spray with a list of everything we should clean to be as safe as possible. Check in was contact free, and extremely pleasant! Our room was a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen and the usual living room sofa and desk/work surface. At first we thought they had removed the kitchen & cook ware, but we discovered ALL of it in the dishwasher, clean! I gloved up and began the great de-BACTERIALIZATION! whatsoever! I'd even sprayed every layer of the bedding with Lysol spray, and probably wasted an hour doing so! We both breathed a giant breath of happiness and let go of any anxiety we'd had about staying in a hotel. Knowing how perfectly our room had been cleaned removed that feeling that you get in your stomach when you do something not recommended by the people behind the science. The obvious "above and beyond" standards at this Residence Inn doubled the fun & relaxation we had with our family & friends in Rochester! Suffice it to say, we'll be back- probably for The Lilac Fest mid May! Thanks again, to the mindful staff at this Residence Inn by Marriott! โจ๐โจThe Newcombs, Gary & Cary๐๐๐จ๐๐พ๐พ๐๐พ๐พ๐ฉ๐ป๐๐ p. s:The staff, to a person, is inviting and...
ย ย ย Read moreIโve booked two stays here over the last month. First, the pluses: the breakfast is great, the pool is lovely and the front office staff is friendly. The con: the hotel has an issue with cleanliness. On our first stay, our roomโs dishes were dirty (dried coffee on the bottoms of coffee mugs, 3d food residue on the plates and utensils), there was a half drunk bottle of open chocolate milk on the counter, and the bathrooms had a lot of visible dust collecting on the edges of the floor. Still, we loved the breakfasts and the pool, so we decided to return a few weeks later to see the eclipse thinking the cleanliness issues were an anomaly. On our return, the staircase from the parking lot up to our room looked as if it hadnโt been vacuumed in weeks (there was a lot of 3d food and other debris on them). When we walked into our room, it reeked of marijuana. The cleaning staff had clearly tried to cover the stench with febreeze, but according to the front desk staff, had not alerted the front desk to the problem. Since the hotel was sold out for the eclipse, we tried to stay in the room, but eventually I had trouble breathing and my eyes started burning, as did my daughterโs. When we called the front desk, they sent someone up who was only able to open one of the roomโs four windows about 3 inches (the roomโs other three windows would not open at all). The hotel didnโt have a HEPA filter. The employee offered to spray more febreeze. He also offered an ionizing machine. When I told the staff that we could not stay in these conditions, they refunded what we had paid and found me a room at another (not comparable) hotel and had me pay for it. When I called Marriott customer service to ask about the room guarantee for Bonvoy members, they told me that this stay doesnโt qualify. As a result, Iโm rethinking my loyalty...

The room was immaculately clean at check-in, and the housekeeping staff did an amazing job all throughout the stay. I cannot say enough good things about how well they did (not that we trashed the room or anything, but their attention to detail and consistent care was above and beyond expectations).
The hotel was overall very quiet - despite the fact that there were kids' sports teams staying there and plenty of dogs. It was a very very peaceful stay from start to finish.
The staff was warm and friendly, regardless of time of day - which was well appreciated. Of all of the hotels I stayed at during my road trip, the staff here was by far the nicest - and seemed very happy overall.
Kudos to the folks who work the breakfast room. The weekend (with the sports teams there) was a crowd that would have made professional cooks' knees shake - but these folks handled it like it was the easiest thing ever (or at least they made it look that way!). The breakfast options were fantastic, and the quality of the food was more than enough to create no cause to go elsewhere for breakfast.
This hotel is very dog friendly. Plenty of immediately nearby grassy areas, waste bags for cleanup, centralized elevators and stairs off to the ends of the wings (for anxious dogs like mine, who get very nervous around lots of people or other dogs). I really appreciated how well this hotel worked for my dog.
I don't get to Rochester nearly as much as I'd like, but I know for sure that I'm staying here next...
