This would be a great family day if not for a couple things. First, we got there early to tailgate with about 12 family members ranging from kids to grandparents. Shortly after we setup, a ducks stadium employee parked nearby and gave us glaring dirty looks. As he walked to the stadium HE TOOK PICTURES OF US (INCLUDING OUR KIDS) AND OUR LICENSE PLATE and texted them to someone (pretty sure taking pictures of children without consent is illegal, but I digress). Within minutes an overly rude and obnoxious guy in a pickup truck with TRUMP stickers on it showed up. Started yelling at us that tailgating is not allowed. As other families showed up he continued his rude, power-tripping behavior by yelling at them too. We basically ignored him, as did everyone else. There were no signs posted anywhere stating that tailgating was not allowed, and his overall behavior seemed to equally infuriate everyone around us. Quite frankly everyone was shocked by this, as it became a topic of discussion between the various groups. This was never an issue when Bethpage Credit Union owned the stadium, so I'm guessing that this is Fairfield Properties making up their own rules to force people to buy their wildly overpriced food and drinks that you have to wait in line for 30 minutes to get. Fairfield is one of the most evil corporations on the planet so I'm not surprised by this. This brings me to the next issue, concession stands. If you want anything, expect to wait a really long time and pay double what you should. The cashiers were really nice and apologetic for the wait, so that's something.
From a baseball perspective, we had a good time. The stadium is nice and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The game was very enjoyable and the kids loved the fireworks. Its a shame that corporate greediness has polluted a once nice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEntering the park is simple. It what happens before and after you enter. My 3 year old grandson had to empty his thermos prior to entering. Who does that to a three year old? There are times you could look the other way. When they entered my son purchased a drink from the concession stand for my grandson. The food cost is outrageous. Chicken fingers and fries are $10.00. It does not come with a drink. A hot dog $6.00, no drink. I had to wait in line at least fifteen minutes. Then we waited five minutes for the hot dog. We should have went to Wendy's. Some of the other teams have a $1.00 hot dog night. I don't believe the Ducks have that. The Ducks do not have a senior package for tickets. Some of the other teams have it. It consists of every Tuesday game for $55.00. Some team prices are lower, some higher. You have good views from the stadium no matter where you sit. Eat before you go to the game. A family of four will cost at least $60.00 for food. A bottle of water $5.00. A beer $10.00. Soda $3.00 and $5.00. Do not bring food or water with you. They will not let you in with it. They do check all bags prior to entering. The game was fun otherwise. You will enjoy it. Parking is "free". I'm surprised they don't charge...
