Snow Nails Spa — Attraction in Town of Islip

If I could give this place a zero, I would. Here’s a rundown of my terrible experience at this nail salon.

They had a bunch of options for dip powder, and I chose color snd 106 right away. The technician used a drill to handle my cuticles, and it hurt and burned. I asked her to stop. She then wanted to know if I wanted them cut. I said no, just to round the ends. Instead, she filed right down the middle, leaving pointy ends that looked like a crescent moon. I should have left then, but I hoped it would get better since she was nice. She dipped my nails straight into the main container instead of using a separate one. Gross. My nails ended up chunky and lumpy, with dip all over my skin. She said it would come off, which it didn't. I was desperate to leave, so I paid and got out. Once outside, the sun hit them and my nails looked awful—bumpy, blotchy, and had a weird purple tint. Frustrated, I just wanted to get home. I called to complain and said I didn’t want to return there, I just wanted a refund. I sent them pictures, and Gizelle who sent me her cellular # agreed I should get my money back. I then spent an hour fixing my nails at home, having to file them down and thin them out myself. A couple of days later, I went back to get my refund and leave. I didn't plan on writing a review until Jay, who was rude, tried to explain the situation. I reminded him we’d talked on the phone, and I just wanted my refund. He wouldn’t drop it, even doing his own nails in the same color to show me how it should look. Of course, his nails were fine—but that the powder is new and bad. He then said mine were fine as well. Mine were fine now because they were fixed by me. I told him I’d never come back. This place isn’t clean; they reuse containers, files, and brushes on customers. Save yourself the trouble and don't go here.

Very poor and rude customer service. I showed them 2 different nail styles and they would talk in their language and later tell me they were unable to do any style. I had to pick an easy nail design to accommodate the tech.. The nail tech seemed very annoyed and was not able to either do the design i picked after she said she could. she continued to design my nails how she wanted, my nails didn't look nothing like the picture. I let her know it's not the same and i didnt like it, she ignored me and continued. another tech had to step in to finish my nails and still she was also not able to design my nails she kept redoing it until I finally said just leave it as is. As i was getting up to go pay the nail techs were asking to please tip mind you i haven't even gotten to the register yet and already begging for a tip. The Owner is not very friendly didnt make you feel welcome. this was my first time here at this place ...

This has been my second time at snow nails. I’ve been looking to leave my old nail lady for a long time as my fill ins were not lasting and it was no longer a relaxing experience…but was finding it hard to have someone meet my standards. From the moment I met Cici I was at ease. The nail salon is welcoming,clean, quiet and Cici is attentive to detail and makes sure you are happy with the shape and color. I can honestly say my nails are perfect. I’ve gotten so many compliments. I hope they stay this perfect because I will be a loyal customer for life.

I’m adding more to my review to update as I just love coming here. Cici was on vacation and I was going to wait for her but I desperately needed a fill so I went to another tech at this salon and my nails are just as amazing. It’s refreshing that every tech has the same set of beautiful standards! I can just feel relaxed and trust everything...
