Sandy’s Flower Shop Valhalla — Attraction in Town of Mount Pleasant

My overall experience here was pretty disappointing... My sister suggested that I give this place a try to support a newer local small business while getting a bouquet of flowers for my wife's graduation today. I figured I'd pick up a simple floral arrangement of 2 dozen roses. The gentleman who assisted me helped to pick out 2 dozen yellow roses, 3 sunflowers, and a little green filler. I made the mistake of not asking how much it would cost and assumed that a couple dozen roses would be similar to a few other places where I've gotten them for like $35 - $50. When I went to pay, the cashier spun around the card reader and it came to roughly $170!!! I was a bit shocked since I had no idea that's what a simple bouquet apparently goes for at some places these days. I apologized for my lack of knowledge, but said that I just honestly don't have that kind of money and if there was any way to bring down the price at all. The associate became visibly upset with me for questioning the price and said he already cut the flowers, so what do I want him to do? I felt bad since he already took the time to make up the bouquet, but said I'll have to just take only a dozen instead. He took back the bouquet and came back a few minutes later with the new one, and I awkwardly paid $75 for a dozen yellow roses. To be honest, I work for, and am more than happy to go out of my way to support small businesses, but I just can't help feeling like I got totally ripped off this afternoon. I write all of this in hopes of potentially helping someone else avoid the awkward realization that the flowers you are likely to find here are going to be substantially more expensive than what you'd find at let's just say a neighborhood grocery...
