Wedding review for anyone considering the venue. I have a million good things to say about the Golden Arrow and staff. From the first meeting onward, Alex, Erin and Natasha were amazing. They were always responsive and helpful for any questions we had throughout the planning process. There’s many beautiful places in Lake Placid for a wedding, but what really sold us was of course the beautiful gondola and LOCATION. Our guests loved being able to walk out of the resort onto the main street for additional dining, shopping, etc. There’s also plenty of parking at the resort and public parking all around it. We had our ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour on the boathouse, and reception in the four seasons room. With just under 100 guests there was more than enough space without feeling overcrowded. They also had a suitable backup plan in the event of a downpour, but we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather. The bridal suite is extremely spacious with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Mirror Lake. They have curtains if you’re worried about guests looking in on you getting ready. There’s also a restroom inside the suite. Erin checked in throughout the day to see if we needed anything and answer any last minute questions we may have had. My husband and I opted not to do a first look, so our photographs did a great job keeping us separated before the ceremony as the resort is quite spacious. There are so many beautiful spots on the property for photos beyond the obvious lake/mountain views. Our photographer and DJ were recommended by the Golden Arrow. We were very happy with their familiarity with the resort and the staff as they have worked together on multiple occasions. This made for smooth sailing throughout the day. (Photos: Jeff Welt, DJ: MX Productions) Alex noticed the song I walked down the aisle to was a Foo Fighters song and when she took us out on the gondola played Foo Fighters music for us. It made it even more memorable and fun. The resort was very accommodating to dietary restrictions. We did a buffet and Natasha made sure everything was labeled accordingly. Erin made sure my husband and I got appetizers between photos and greetings. She also went above and beyond to accommodate my celiac disease restrictions. Natasha also made sure my husband and I got our drinks and dinner as guests were occupying much of our time. We had an amazing reception full on nonstop dancing, and when that ended we moved the party to the nightclub Roomers which is conveniently located next door. You can also access it through the resort as the buildings are attached. 10/10 would recommend!

We were visiting to complete the Lake Placid 9er and it was such a treat coming back from each hike to our room. The location and views are phenomenal, the bed was super comfortable, and everyone was welcoming and attentive. Even during the fall, we were able to enjoy kayaking on the lake; an amenity provided by the resort. To those looking for pet reviews: We had our dog with us—it was important to me that we accomplish the peaks together. I have to say that Golden Arrow's pet policy and accommodation was highly appreciated. The policy and general fees were very fair, we were given a room with easy outdoor access, some of the receptionists even greeted our dog by name, and minus one owner*, I could hardly tell other dogs were on the property. *I hope us owners can continue to be great dog ambassadors so lovely places like Golden Arrow can be enjoyed by everyone! My only complaint is that some wedding guests can be disruptive at night, but we came during a beautifully scenic time, and I'm positive management would mitigate the situation if we had said something (it really was not so bad that it was worth upsetting the newlyweds). On a positive note, it was sweet seeing the ceremonies in the morning. Golden Arrow, thank you for this amazing stay! One of the most restorative vacations I've had to date. We know where we'll be booking when we come back to the mountains. (Picture of dog is at Bear Den, not Golden Arrow)

I come here every year. It's a beautiful hotel. They rooms are nice and clean. Everything is so close. The hiking trails aren't a long drive, maybe 30 minutes, depending on how far you're looking to go. I come in the winter to go to whiteface Mountain. That's about a 20-minute drive depending on the weather. The staff here are always nice and very helpful. One member, cousin Vinny, is super kind and always manages to be there if you need assistance bringing something to your room. There is a pool and sauna that you have full access to, and they also have a gym for the guests. There are many activities offered throughout the town for families or couples or teams. This hotel is also dog friendly. The whole town is dog friendly, and its so amazing seeing everyone walk their dogs down the street. They do have rules about bringing your dog with you, so be sure to read them. They have handicap accessible rooms also. They have a large variety of rooms to choose from. They also have car garages under the hotel, so you are safe from the elements when unloading or loading backup. This also has some regulations with the size of your vehicle, but they also have a parking lot out front for use. This is a well worth it place, and I highly recommend it.

A very nice lodge overlooking mirror lake right in the middle of town in Lake Placid. Definitely very family friendly and great for couples for a nice getaway. Our room was very spacious. The bathroom was very nice, comfortable bed, a jacuzzi and a balcony overlooking the lake!!!! The air conditioning was a bit loud. But it was very quiet in the hallways at night. There is also an indoor pool, beach, fire pit, kayaks and canoes. There are so many rooms and hallways and they connect to the hotel’s restaurant where we had a free breakfast and it was very good!! We also got food there the night before and the gluten free pizza was outstanding! Their website is very helpful with showing multiple pictures of the rooms so you know what to expect. They were very nice with giving lots of pillows and towels. It is a little pricey especially at popular times in the season, yet it is right on Main Street on the lake so you have free parking and can walk around town very easily. It is worth it if you’re willing to pay a little extra for a very nice stay. However if you are looking for just a regular room or hotel for much cheaper I would stay somewhere else.

This place was great! We were here for my brothers hockey tournament, and even though I’m not a hockey fan I still had a good time. Everything was clean, and room service came by relatively often. The view from our room was absolutely stunning. Since we were here for a tournament, we had to eat the food in the hotel cafeteria, which leads to the only reason I gave this place four stars instead of five. The food was AWFUL! The burgers looked suspicious, the pancakes were tasteless, and the muffins were like taking a bite out of a chocolate flavored Sahara Desert. I’m pretty sure that none of the food had any nutritional value either because my mom and my sister and I spent most of our trip feeling like we were hit by a bus; however we felt much better after eating at one of the local restaurants where we saw this amazing taxidermy wolf (picture below). Other than that, I would totally recommend, but go out to a restaurant or something and avoid the cafeteria food AT ALL COSTS! TLDR: Nice rooms, Great location, Terrible food
