I went to have breakfast with my wife and our 2 yr old son. The hostess was great, gave us a wait time and got us seated and she was non-stop busy but courteous and professional. We were greeted by our waitress, Bella. She gave us menus and I ordered an ice black coffee and my wife asked for more time to review the menu. That was the last we saw of Bella for 15 whole minutes. My son was hungry and I tried to stay calm and patient while watching Bella hang around the bar area. The waitress laughed and flirted with a man who was with another woman. She undid her hair and flipped it. Took a few drinks from her drink. Chatted and joked with other co workers. She helped other tables and seemingly forgot about our table. When I stopped her as she was about to walk by, I told her she hadn’t taken our order. She looked confused and took our order. My wide ordered an omelette with sausage and toast, I ordered a smores french toast and a side of canadian bacon, and we ordered 2 eggs with home fries and bacon for my son. When the food arrived, my wife received her omelette, she didn’t get sausage she got a fruit cup and she got an English muffin. My wife told Bella about the missing sausage and Bella seemed to imply it was in the Omelette which it was not. I asked for more bacon for my son’s dish because it came with 2 of the skinniest strips of bacon. The waitress tried to rectify the error in her ways and tried to periodically check in after dropping the ball. The french toast was very soggy, my wife enjoyed her omelette, I did not like the home fries. When we asked for the check Bella said she didn’t charge us for the side of sausage and side of bacon because of the “kerfuffle”. A “kerfuffle” is a commotion or a fuss. She dropped the ball and did not want to own up and apologize for messing up the order and neglecting to take an order of a family with a small child. Maybe it was a race thing because we didn’t have the same blonde hair as her or were from an ethnic background? Not sure, I reluctantly provided the bare minimum tip because the hostess and the girl clearing tables were killing it. This was a horrible experience which will inevitably have zero consequences for the responsible waitress. The behavior, lack of accountability and service provided by “Bella R” was atrocious. I wanted to go back and try other food and make sure I request a different waitress but the snow kept us indoors and maybe for...
Read moreI read a lot of reviews and when my sister-in-law and I had plans to be in Lake Placid, I knew I was going to have to eat here and I'm glad I did!
I wish I'd had a Bloody Mary but decided on a Lavendar Mint Iced Tea instead. It was delish! And super refreshing on the hot, humid day we were in town!
For our late brunch, I opted for the Filet & Cheese Rosti and it did not disappoint! The portion was very large, more than I could finish and I was pretty hungry! The potatoes are deliciously seasoned and crisped to perfection 👌🏼 as was the filet. My sister-in-law had the veggie bene which also looked amazing!
If it were for just the food, I would give 5 stars but, there were a couple turn offs that I tried, unsuccessfully, to ignore...
My girlfriends and I decided to do a weekend trip to lake placid and we had such a wonderful time. We had reviewed local restaurants and bars prior to arriving and the breakfast club was on the list so we made our way over on Saturday morning for brunch. We walked up to the hostess to be seated and notified us that there was a 45 minute wait. My friend turned to us and said “oh wow 45 minutes!”Simply surprised that the wait was so long because it didn’t seem too busy. The hostess so rudely snapped at her and said “there’s no need for a “oh wow” it’s usually 2 hours.. so you’re lucky” So we agreed to just place our name down on the list because we wanted to dine there. The hostess then asked for a name so my friend starts to give hers and the hostess cuts her off after the first letter and goes “give me an easy name..” Now my friends and I are all Indian girls. So we knew we right then that the first comment about the wait wasn’t an off handed remark. She made her feelings about us being there perfectly clear. We stood out amongst the crowd and we tried giving her the benefit of the doubt. So during our wait we decided to grab coffee from the cafe at the breakfast club - we noticed an Asian woman approach this same hostess to ask her a question. The way she spoke to this woman was shocking. And how quickly her tone and demeanor changed when addressing another family confirmed our initial reaction.
It was absurd.
We definitely felt out of place until we were seated. The rest of the staff was extremely welcoming. We had a great experience following out initial interaction.
So POC -...
