The night I visited this establishment I was with three other people so it was a party of four. We arrived at 6pm and we were told there was a 45 minute wait so we decided to check out Lake Mirror(right up the hill)and wait the 45 minutes. When we came back from seeing the lake we were told that there was an additional 15 minutes wait and that we were third on the list to get called. As we were patiently waiting (now over an hour) we take a took at what seemed to be around 3-4 tables of people that were done eating and waiting for their checks. I went back to the front desk and asked the lady how much longer and she said she is normally the bar tender and they are short staffed. Not the answer i was expecting. She seemed like she definitely did not want to be doing her job that night based on her body language. Any how, so we continued to wait. Mind you, this place was highly recommended. At 8pm (almost 30 minutes later) those tables were finally cleared so we could be seated. We waited so long that we didn't even want to eat anymore but stuck it out anyway. We placed our orders and the food was out in less than 20 minutes so by 8:30pm we finally began to eat. As my food came out I had noticed that all of the utensils that were put out for us were filthy and filled with old barbecue sauce🤮. I asked our waiter to please get us disposable utensils since they just couldn't keep them clean. It was one of the worst customer service experiences ever. I have done many reviews on restaurants and their staff does not care much to maintain this restaurants reputation. This restaurant is supposed to be one of the best places to eat in lake placid but I just did not get that experience at all. For the price you will be paying per person ($50 per person average) it was so not worth it. The pickled pig was late and dirty!!!

It's long but useful!! My wife and I came to The Pickled Pig for our 13th anniversary for what we thought would be a nice lunch. Boy were we wrong :( we arrived at 11 a.m. and we're seated outside per our request. We wanted to try a local brew since we aren't from the area, but after ordering, the waiter comes back 10 minutes later to tell us they are out of the Ubu. (The local brew) so we settle for a Switchback since we are from Burlington where it comes from and we know it's good! Another 10 minutes goes by and we finally recieve our beers. Our 12oz mug of WARM beer. YUCK! So we put in an appetizer order and decide only to do an appetizer since that alone was $23 dollars for fries with pulled pork, chili, corn salsa, and supposedly a habenero cheddar sauce. We were not very hopeful at this point but still tried to be optimistic. A while later we get our fries....omg what a tragedy. There was no habenero cheddar sauce, the fries were warm at best and mushy. The chili tasted like ketchup mixed with a McCormick seasoning pack. I think it had pulled pork? Hard to tell, wasn't much to it for $23. We both left there with terrible heartburn and unsatisfied stomachs. They ended up charging us for the local brew we originally ordered and not the switchback that we recieved, which I didn't notice until we had already paid, and we were both just ready to leave this establishment and never return. The entrées are very over priced as well as most everything on the menu and they didn't seem to really care about their customers.

We went to The Pickled Pig twice during our time at Lake Placid because the food was so good!! First time there, we ordered the smothered nachos for our app (very enjoyable). I ordered the crack burger with chips, my husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. My son ordered the baja killer shrimp tacos and my little one ordered the kids fried shrimp and cinnamon apples. We all loved our meals and tried each others, it was all mouth watering honestly!! We went to dine at another restaurant the following day but werent impressed so our next dine out experience, we went back to the Pickled Pig. This time we got the cardiac fries as our app (very yummy). I got the Be still my heart sandwich, my husband got the pulled pork tacos this time, my son got the brisket tacos and my girl got fried shrimp again this time with a pickle (which was huge by the way but very fresh and tasty). The food was a hit once again and we were all happy with our choices. I'd like to add that the portions are fair based on prices and the flavors are worth the money, hands down. The ambiance was chill. We ate inside and the second time we opted for outside since weather was nice. The servers were very friendly and welcoming to us and especially the kids, which was great and appreciated. I tried two local draft beers during our visits as well and enjoyed both. Overall, we have not one, but two wonderful dining experiences at the pickled pig. Highly recommend to all and if we're back in the area, we'll be heading back to the Pickled Pig!! We loved it!

Just a great experience dining at the Pickled Pig while visiting Lake Placid. The best meal I had there all week. No contest. We had an early 4pm diner on the patio with our 5lbs yorkie and everything was perfect. Raised patio was clean, lots of room, very nicely decorated with palm leaf type patio umbrellas rustling in the cool breeze. Great music playing at the right volume- medium volume to enjoy it & not too loud so we could talk together. Our server Kate was approachable & well informed and made great suggestions from the menu- my husband really enjoyed their fiery hot sauce she suggested he try with his wings. The best meal we had there all week. SO TASTY!!!! We all loved our dishes. Stuffed jalapenos, large plump wings, beautiful saucy tacos and the freshest juiciest burger with the freshest brioche bun with the best waffle fries everything hot fresh seasoned right with delectable sauces!!!! Also generous with their pop refills- the only place we were really looked after with our beverages in the summer heat! Big fresh tasty portions done right at the right price- and I say this even with the canadian dollar exchange rate!!! Best flavour & value for tasty dishes in Lake Placid in our opinion!!! We were in L.P. visiting for the first time and wanted to try different places, so we did, most were fair to good, but our great experience at the Pickled Pig at the end of the week of our visit made me regret not eating there all week and trying their whole menu instead of going to other restaurants. If it helps I'm a former waitress/bartender turned prep cook, turned cook, turned chef & total neat freak. So tidy place & tasty food is foremost in my mind. I can't speak on dessert because we didn't order it-we were too full :) (That said, I will now be leaving a wonderful google review for Emma's Ice Cream shop!) So Bravo Pickled Pig when we visit Lake Placid again I guess we will be camping out on your patio & really not going anywhere else...

I like the restaurant because they are the best ribs I have ever tasted but the waitress that served me today was a disaster, this time I ordered the usual "full ribs". When I was ordering the ribs the waitress didn't give me to choose other contours than just salad and fries, and gave me my soda without straw, I had no choice but to drink the soda and I didn't see her to ask for one, when the food arrived it was great I received it through the food runner, The food was delicious, immediately after the food arrived the waitress arrived to ask if the food was ok when I hadn't even tasted it, when I was in the middle of the meal, I ran out of drink for 15 minutes and my throat is dry and hot, I had to get up from the table to go near the kitchen to ask for more soda, the waitress gave me the soda and asked me if I wanted the bill when I had half eaten, obviously I said no and when I finished eating I asked for a box so I could take what was left over and the bill, only the bill arrived, the waitress looked for the bill and gave it to me but it took her another 15 minutes to charge me, I had to get up once again and go near the kitchen so they could charge my bill. In conclusion the waitress took forever, she wanted to run me off when I had half my food, she didn't give me a box to take the rest of my food (I was already annoyed with her for having to wait more time to take my food) and she was not aware of me and the other customers, luckily there were only 3 tables occupied at that time, I went at 12:00pm, the waitress is called Molly and has yellow hair, with her I had to order and go to where she was to get my bill, a fiasco of waitress but a good restaurant. In addition, the person who served me when I entered the restaurant gave me a dirty and...
