Late on Thanksgiving Day I received word that my father's sister, and last surviving aunt, had passed away at age 100 in Glen Cove, NY. Living in Colorado and not having visited her since 2015, I was unfamiliar with the area and began googling florists to deliver a sympathy arrangement for the Visitation to be held at a local Funeral Home the next day at 1:00 PM. I chose Hicksville Florist based on their comprehensive web site, extensive selection, reasonable pricing, and guaranteed same day delivery. I called the next morning shortly after their 9:00 AM opening. Mario answered the phone and immediately recognized the urgency of my situation. He said the Funeral Home was only 8 miles away and assured me that it would be no problem getting the flowers there in time for the Visitation. I decided on one of the beautiful standing baskets, whereupon Mario explained to me that one of the varieties in the arrangement was currently unavailable, but they would be happy to substitute others of equal or higher value for the same price. I agreed, and we proceeded with the transaction. Due to a minor technical glitch on my end, our line of communication was disrupted once or twice, but Mario called me back immediately to clarify and confirm my order. Shortly thereafter I received an email with a photo of the finished product which arrived at the Funeral Home in plenty of time for the scheduled Visitation. To my delight, it was even lovelier than the one pictured on the web site, rendering the whole experience more than worthy of 5 Stars for...
Read moreI called Hicksville Florist on 10/29 for a delivery to a friend recovering from surgery. I specifically stated that I wanted the total to come to $75 or less, that I was splitting this with three people and we each wanted to contribute $25.
I received my credit card statement today and Hicksville Florist charged me over $103. When I phoned the company they explained the additional fees were for tax and delivery charges. When I explained that this was not what I agreed to pay in total, the woman I spoke with offered me a 20% discount on my next purchase. I declined and asked that she refund me the full $28 they overcharged me or that I would initiate a partial stop-payment on the order with my credit-card company. At this point she became irate, telling me I was being unreasonable, that 'you people' do this all of the time, want everything for nothing, etc. She also accused me of not being clear in my original request. Interesting - I placed the original order, not her.
I explained, again, that I was clear with her employee that the total was to be $75 or less, and that she could continue getting my business if they credited me the overpayment, even towards my next purchase, but she continued on her tirade over the telephone.
I strongly recommend you avoid this florist. There are plenty of others in the area. Problems always occur and they clearly are not interested in responding to a reasonable...
Read moreHorrible Experience with online delivery. There are 3 different website from this Hicksville Florist. At first I didn't realize this until I found out few day later that the delivery is delayed.
I ordered the Vast of Lilly with value of 90$ - tax, delivery charge for Grandpa's funeral. 2 Days after placing the ooder and passing the funeral date, flowers still didn't arrive. I phoned the shop with the unbelievably rude woman named Alex from the shop with all detail still she couldn't find it. After 3 phone calls, she somehow pulled it out of her ass and found my order but without transaction from credit card gone through.
I told her I will check with my bank. The bank clearly has debited the sum of my order. I make a screen shot and sent it to them and still this Alex refused to give me any proof from their side on why the payment didn't go through on their end. She claimed she can't make no screen shot and won't use her private phone.
Key is this woman Alex at Hicksville Flowers was the first class ass who raised voice at her customer for trying to understand what went wrong on their end and refused to give any proof or anything polite and useful.
Until now I still don't have the flowers delivered and had to file Bank Complaint to try to get 111$ back.
Such a abhorrent person who works with flowers. Strongly suggest you...
