Outrageous Boutique — Attraction in Town of Oyster Bay

Terrible customer service. Some friends and I went here to get dresses for my friends S16 court . After we got our measurements taken and paid, our friends mom picked the dresses up for all of us when the dresses were done , a week later due to its distance from our house. We tried the dresses on the same day and some of the dresses did not fit us at the bust. We called and they told us they’d be able to fix our dresses in one day, without a fee and to come in next week. We come in , the tailor Amy tells us that it will be done next week and there is a fee, mind you the party was less than a week away . She then said it’s our fault we didn’t come earlier and that her workers never said that there was no fee. After calling me a liar, she disrespected my mother saying next time she should come with her daughter when I go shopping so I could understand information correctly. This place is unprofessional and they will misinform you on the phone just to get your money. I live in Queens , traveling all the way over here just so they can try to take my money and insult me and my family . The staff are not on the same page since they give out false information. The only thing "outrageous" about this shop is the poor selection and even worse customer service! I found this location as a listed vendor with a certain designer. I contacted the shop to make sure they had plus size options to try on, and to ask after a specific style. I knew in advance that the specific dress I was interested in was not available but I was very open to my bridal party trying on and finding something in the shop.

The woman who "helped" us, I believe may have been the owner. My entire party had traveled long and far to attend and we were all very excited...until we noticed the fairly small and tacky selection overall and the very small plus sized selection. She asked our budget but then spoke over us so she never heard what we were prepared to spend. Then EVERY single dress my girls selected to try on she rudely, and loudly proclaimed that it either 1) Didn't come in our sizes or 2) We couldn't afford them.

I also heard her and another consultant speak rudely to other customers. Never in my whole life have I been treated so poorly! We were mislead into believing she had anything for us, and we were judged and shamed for our size range and her perception of our budget. RUN from this shop! Picked up my daughters dress a few weeks ago and I was mortified about my interaction with the owner. When my daughter and I first visited there in July we were assisted by 3 younger employees who very polite, professional and knowledgeable. They helped my daughter find the perfect sweet 16 dress. Owner was not there that day thankfully. Had she been there I most definitely would not have given this place my business. What a train wreck. She is abrasive, rude, condosending and just not nice at all. She is not welcoming in the least. I really regretted buying my daughters dress here after this one interaction. My 15 year old even commented on her treatment of her employees. She was horrified by the way she was speaking to them. I really feel sorry for all of those girls. If your daughter works there….get her out please!!!

Also my daughters dress needed some additional detailing which after being quoted one price on the day of purchase (written on the receipt), she more than doubled it when I picked up the dress. When I mentioned I was quoted a different price and it was noted on the receipt, she agreed to honor it but said for that price we’d have to scale back on the details.
