When we moved to Plainview about seven years ago, one of the very first things my wife did was head straight to the library and get library cards for the whole family. That’s just who she is — she’s always kept in touch with libraries wherever we’ve lived, and when our kids were younger, she would take them regularly.
This library has a lot going for it. The collection is extensive, with books for all ages and interests. The children’s section is well-stocked and thoughtfully arranged, making it inviting for younger readers. Over the years, our kids have made good use of it, both in person and through the library’s mail services. These days, with so much available online and by mail, we don’t visit in person as often, but the library still plays a role in our lives.
Beyond the books, the library also hosts art exhibits and other community events, adding a nice cultural touch to the neighborhood. The location is convenient, with plenty of parking, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
It’s a solid community resource — whether you’re an avid reader, a parent introducing your kids to books, or someone who enjoys local arts and culture, the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library is worth keeping...
Read moreCame here to print a document on legal paper. What should have been a quick task turns into a nightmare. All the taxes that the library collects and they won't offer the ability to print on legal paper even if you bring your own. First of all, legal paper is not a rare commodity that you can spare a few pages and the option to print. That goes for other size paper too. You are here to offer a community service! Furthermore, the staff is severely technologically challenged. They couldn't even figure how to print on a different printer in the small building even though the printer names are written on the printers. Their suggestion is to go to Staples or UPS and pay because of their self imposed...
Read moreThe library is truly the gem and heart of plainview. I always recommend any new families moving in that the first thing they have to do is get a library card! The library has offered tons of resources for both my children and I. The large playroom in the kids section has always been a crowd favorite ☺️ I am also grateful to have found new friends and playdates just by spending time here.
They are clean, friendly, and organized. I am also looking forward to the new coffee shop!
The only suggestion I have is that I hope this library will get more access to discounted tix to adventureland and extend the museum passes to other cultural institution like our neighboring ...
