A Devastating Experience — Please Don’t Make the Same Mistake We Did

We held our wedding reception at Pearl Banquet Hall, and it’s a decision we will forever regret. What was supposed to be one of the most meaningful nights of our lives was completely destroyed by this venue.

The venue scheduled an event to end two hours before ours, but assured us our vendors would have that full time to set up. That didn’t happen. The space was not vacated in time, leaving our decorators scrambling and causing a 40-minute delay. Our guests were left crammed into the lobby — no seating, no food, and a completely chaotic start to our night.

The manager, Freddy, personally guaranteed that he would be present to oversee everything and ensure a smooth event. Not only did he no-show, but the staff who replaced him had no idea about any of the details I had discussed with him multiple times.

Other issues included: • Inadequate number of tables -- despite being clearly listed in our invoice. A table had to be added last minute after guests had already started arriving. • Three full tables of guests to stand up and relocate during our event due to poor placement near speakers. • The sweetheart table -- also clearly listed in our invoice -- was never provided. • No food was provided for us in the banquet hall or bridal suite. • The bridal suite was filthy and never cleaned before our event. • Mismatched table numbers with no table stands. • Staff was unable to play our slideshow of photos that we prepared to play during our event. • Our party favors were left in the lobby and guests from a different party were seen taking them. • The most heartbreaking moment: we had carefully planned a surprise birthday celebration for both of our fathers, with cakes to be brought out during our speech. I communicated this to Freddy multiple times. Instead, the staff placed the cakes directly in front of the stage before we made our entrance, completely ruining the whole surprise.

Even after all of this, the venue has never apologized or taken any accountability. I expect they will reply to this review to say that these standards are acceptable. If any of these issues would be unacceptable to you for your wedding or any other special occasion, I strongly urge you not to book this venue.

If you are reading this and thinking of booking here — please don’t. Find another venue that respects your time, your plans, and your memories. We can never get this night back, but I hope this review helps someone else avoid the same disappointment.

I usually don’t write reviews, but after what I experienced at Pearl Banquet, I feel I must warn others. If you are thinking of booking or attending an event here, please read this carefully.

I’ve attended multiple events at Pearl Banquet, and every single time the experience was very disappointing. At first, I thought maybe it was just one bad day, but after seeing the same problems again and again, I realized this is their usual standard.

• Food Quality – Very Poor: The food does not taste fresh. Appetizers like pakoras were overcooked, dry, and seemed like leftovers. Later, I was surprised when a staff member mentioned that the kitchen often stores food from previous events in the fridge and reheats it for the next day. That means your guests could be eating food that is 2–3 days old even older. From naan to curries to desserts — nothing feels freshly made. This raises serious concerns about quality and hygiene.

• Management & Service – Unprofessional: The management does not seem to care about guests. The waiters provide minimal service, yet stand around expecting tips, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. Instead of focusing on proper hospitality, they take shortcuts. There is no professionalism, no accountability, and little respect toward the customers who are paying for an event.

• The Most Disappointing Part: When you book a banquet hall, you trust them with your special event — weddings, birthdays, family gatherings. But here, that trust feels broken. Imagine inviting your guests and paying thousands of dollars, only for them to be served reheated food with poor service. It’s frustrating, embarrassing, and deeply disappointing.

And to anyone reading this: don’t be convinced if they try to claim that they “maintain the best quality in the food.” That’s not what I experienced. If you really want to know the reality, just go and check their fridge before booking an event. You’ll see...
