Dear Balducci’s Customer Service, I appreciate your efforts to provide delivery during this difficult time, but feel disappointed and slightly cheated by the reality. On April 15th my wife placed an order for approximately $170 of groceries. The final charge was for $245.98 which I might not have cared about if the delivery had met our needs. Of the 25 items delivered, 18 were adjustments - despite the specification in the original order that there be no substitutions. The most egregious offenses were: 1.) substituting cracked wheat bread for French peasant and 10 grain for soft white (at least they were all the same price) 2.) substituting Arborio Italian-style rice for both Basmati brown rice and long grain white rice 3.) substituting 4 containers of Breakstone 2% Lowfat Cottage Cheese for 3 containers of Lactaid 4% Cottage Cheese (UNUSABLE because I’m lactose-intolerant!) Even if I could use the $19.96 worth of cottage cheese, it was $6.79 more than the order. 4.) substituting 2x6 egg packages ($3.99 each) for 1x12 package ($4.39) - an overcharge of $3.59 5.) substituting 2 packs of Diet Coke (6x6x8oz) @ $6.59 each for 1 Diet Coke (6x6x12oz) for $1.09 - a nifty $12.09 overcharge 6.) the 4 quarts of Lactaid ice cream were melted - I would have gladly paid an additional charge for packing them in a freezer bag… I hope you will understand why I’m distressed. A request for “No Substitutions” means I’m willing to live without the items specified. In times when food should not be wasted, I hate throwing out almost $20 in cottage cheese and $22 in melted ice cream. I resent the more than $35 overcharges on top of more than $22 in service fee and tips. Until such time as you guarantee that you will fill the order as specified, I will not be a customer. Very truly...
Read moreDisappointed this past Holiday season. I ordered a pound of Prosciutto di Parma And I noticed the girl slicing it with the machine, whereas the year before, the young man did it with a knife. When I got the meat home,
( I had bought several pounds of other improperly sliced, albeit, expensive cured meats as well....around $100 worth, to be exact....hey it’s the holidays, you know? I otherwise don’t shop here regularly.)
I opened the package, ate a piece of prosciutto, and it had the hard rind all the way around. I had to stand there and peel this thick spiny rind off of a pound of Prosciutto, as it’s basically melting in my hand. Very disappointed, and from what I understand and have read, the rind and haunch bone should be removed before machine slicing. The year before, by hand with the knife was a true delicacy. I came to baldiccis hoping to have the finest of Italian meats prepared the right way for that price. I only shop here for holidays. You can’t have amateurs machine slice Prosciutto di Parma, it’s an offense to the customer as well...
Read moreThis place should be ashamed of themselves. I bought a bacon cheddar sandwich or should I say a cardboard breakfast sandwich . I got violently ill!!! Spoiled, hard and inedible. When I called to speak to the manager he was not in. Yet surprisingly every department has a manager? Where is the quality control? How does this meet standards? In addition to this, I bought cake hard as a rock and meatballs! Tasteless cardboard balls. On top of poor food quality the cashiers are very rude! You shouldn’t talk about your customers! I understand Spanish . So whether you would have said it like you did or in English , it has the same effect! YOU ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY RUDE! I’ve been told this is how they continue to do business and people have accepted it! I will never shop here and I will spread the word in anyway I can. Sadly, when I called the girl on the phone she could care less and was not even moved by any of this… just silence! Do yourself a favor!! Stay away...
