Thai review is based off of a free Yelp event. We came on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. The inside is stunning inside with seating both in the front and back. I loved that it’s located in a plaza with plenty of parking. It’s a little bit confusing where to order/where to pay and I’d love for them to have better signage so it’s less confusing. The menu that they provided was very limited. I’m not sure if this is due to the event or if this is just how they present it. I had never been to Dig before so I spent some time on the website trying to see what I might like and most of the options were not on the menu in the restaurant. I ended up getting the hot honey chicken that included charred chicken, roasted carrots, charred broccoli, Mac n cheese, and a maple honey sriracha on the side to drizzle. This meal was really tasty! My plus one did the build your own bowl and got farro, sweet potatoes, charred broccoli, and crispy tofu with vegan aoli. My biggest issue with this was that he asked for tofu and she put a big piece of chicken on it and moved on. He confirmed that that was tofu and she just took it off and added the tofu. Thankfully he’s not really vegan and just has an egg allergy, but I could see how it would be problematic for vegans. I asked for a side of vegan ranch and she brought me balsamic saying that’s what I asked for. Honestly, I was really unimpressed with the staff. The girl who took our order was not nice at all and wasn’t listening to what we ordered. I also have some issues with the cleanliness of the back room. There were crumbs all over the booths and floors. For a place that had only been opened for maybe 20 mins and we were the only ones there at the time, I’d expect it...
Read moreSo the funny thing is I literally live right up the street from Dig and never noticed the place. Upon entering one of the first things you notice is how bright open and airy the place is. We did experience a little difficulty with the " logging in" so to speak but we finally nailed it. The menu at first came across as a little confusing but we got some help and moved on to choices. We got the Classic Dig and the Hot Honey Chicken. Let's start with the Classic. The chicken had good flavor, texture, not over cooked but the pieces were on the big side. The broccoli was good but again big pieces. The rice was a good balance of flavor not overly lemony. The downside was everything was on the salty side and the garlic aioli was more mayo than garlic, no balance. Moving to the Hot Honey Chicken. There was supposed to be a glaze on the chicken which was actually drizzled on before it was served. Again the pieces were big which seemed to be a recurring theme for all the players in the bowl. This dish was also on the salty side. Overall the portions would be perfect for sharing. There is value here. For not much more than going to say McDonald's or BK you're getting vegetables you can see and a much lower calorie meal. So here's my goof, I was so hungry when I got there I started to eat before I took pictures of the food! As a cook, I would definitely cut back on the salt and...
Read moreI had just visited a potential college for my teenaged daughter and my family became very hungry. Among the local restaurants that I googled in the local area, this one promoted itself as a "farm to table" establishment. This got me curious since I'm always looking for more wholesome food that is often hard to find. From the facade, it was not obvious that this place was a restaurant, but once we went in, the atmosphere was very inviting with an industrial, yet homey feeling to it. There was one long, but fast-moving line where customers could order a "Marketbowl" that consisted of several different ingredients that fulfilled all the food groups. The menu also listed all the farms that the food came from throughout the United States. I ordered a custom-designed bowl of Classic brown rice, Grilled Organic Tofu, Broccoli with Sesame Crunch, and Kale with Cotija and Corn Salad. It was absolutely delicious and nutritious and for about $12 for the whole bowl, a great deal. From what I read, this place is now a franchise, but none of their locations exist anywhere in the New York City area. I hope that this business continues to do well so that they will expand into an area that is...
