Landsberg Jewelers — Attraction in Town of Rye

Decades ago my husband's grandfather immigrated from England to Montauk, NY. At that time he took work as an English gardener with the few families that spent summers in the Hamptons. During this time he would periodically venture into Manhattan to catch up on his favorite baseball team. At some point he walked into Landsberg Jewelers and purchased himself a gold signet ring. He never amassed a fortune as a gardener, so there were very few momentos remaining to pass down to future generations. Actually, up until we learned of the ring , the only sentimental notion is a name passed down grandfather to grandson and now great grandson. One we intend to perpetuate. That was until this signet ring came to light. It was something my mother in law kept, unbeknownst to the family until her passing at which time it became my husband's. Fast forward to our son's high school graduation, and the ring is passed on again. I was pleasantly surprised to find Landsberg Jewelers were still in business and contacted them immediately. They responded just as quickly and were equally excited about the story of the signet ring. Work to restore our family heirloom began promptly, as well as an added inscription. We are so pleased with the hearfelt interest taken in our journey by the Landsberg family. The ring looks as if it were brand new and ironically, it fits our son perfectly. I needed to have some sentimental jewelry repaired and since my long-time jeweler had left the area, I set out to find a jeweler I could trust. My husband mentioned Landsberg Jewelers in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center to me, which he had passed by numerous times, while shopping in the Center. I did a little research, and found that Landsberg is a long-time family owned business. That’s all I needed to know. I went to the door of the store and a gentleman opened the door and greeted me (It was not till later that I realized he was the owner). There were so many happy faces amongst the sparkling cases of jewelry. I walked over to a friendly woman behind one of the cases and showed her a bracelet that I needed repaired. She looked at it and said it looks like you have a diamond missing on your ring too. I said, “Yes, I need to have that replaced also” She brought me over to another woman who introduced herself. She was a true professional. She looked over the piece, told me what they could do, then called over the gentleman I had met at the door (who I later found out was her husband). He confirmed what she had told me. Landsberg had earned my trust…I was able to leave my jewelry without any angst. I can’t say enough about the experience. Everyone at Landsberg Jewelers was very helpful and professional. I'm excited to see what they do with my ring. The atmosphere in the store was very relaxing and calm. I had a great experience.

Saturday, 12/10/2022 I'm back with an update. Today, I picked up my ring and all I can say is-AMAZING. The ring is so beautiful. They did an amazing job. It was a gift from my mom, who passed away two years ago and it needed to be resized and a diamond had to be replaced. I can honestly say, if she were here, she would be proud of the work they did and the way it looks. I will always miss her but now I'll have a piece of her with me everyday. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 Again, I lost a stone in my ring but in a different location. I learned because of the way the ring was made, the diamonds can fall out easier than other rings. And once again, Landsburg was there for me. They replaced the stone and you would never know. It looks beautiful. I will always go there for any of my jewelry needs.
