Nick Charlap’s Ice Cream — Attraction in Town of Tonawanda

Love the local hard ice cream. Great assortment of flavors! This place really brightens up the corner of Elmwood and Woodward. But, we went today and they were really skimping on the scoop sizes, serving up the smallest ice cream scoops I've ever seen for an ice cream stand. We left feeling very unsatisfied. So much so that, when we got home, we dug through the fridge for additional dessert. We're regulars here, but will be cutting back. Between the cost of the ice cream here and us always leaving a tip, we'll be saving a lot of money if we just buy half-gallons at the grocery store. Edit: I gave this place another chance. Doing so was a big mistake. I've never had such a difficult time buying ice cream before. It definitely wasn't busy, so that wasn't a factor. The order was a simple one (a single item), so complexity wasn't a factor either. There was no unpleasantness directed toward the employees, so that also wasn't a factor. It was simply the case that two of the three employees were not yet ready for any kind of job responsibilities. Thank goodness for the third employee, who had to step in and take over for the other two. She deserves a raise for her excellent customer service skills and for carrying the burden of keeping this ice cream...

I placed an order for a cheeseburger, and straight fries. We asked if they do cheese sauce for dipping , we were told yes...so my friend and I both ordered a side of cheese for our fries...we waited for a while, noticing it was getting a little busier..I got up from the picnic table (with a cast on my broken foot) walked over and saw two bags there and our orders were there. I looked in the bag and saw a hamburger with a slice of cheeses on cellophane and no crock of cheese. My friend had a slice of cheese on her hot dog. I asked them to remake it, and they walked off and dismissed me, so I stood back in line and said to the girl who took my order asking her why would you tell us that cheese dipping sauce was available if you do not carry it? She told me she was confused...I told her we can do it one of two ways either you can remake it or you can refund my money..what would you like to do? She offered to have my food remade...we waited again, while I was waiting I figured I'll eat my fries ...wrong!! They were cold and not cooked...I decided to leave...I'm not even going to waiste my time or energy to ask them to...

beware when ordering a waffle cones they reuse them got a black raspberry icecream which is purple and the cone was leaking out a brown liquid and the cone was all soggy not even after 5 minutes of me having it. and poor customer service i showed the girl she wouldn’t even give me a refund told me to come back. disgusting edit: i came back the same day it was a girl with black straight hair i told her what happened and said i wanted a refund she told me to come back because there was no manager. i HAD to come back the next day and that same girl that said she couldn’t help me seen me come back and ran to the corner to talk about me and while i was talking to the other girl she called that original girl with straight black hair and she gave me a refund. so you need to have a conversation with your staff because making me come back 2 times for an issue you guys did is horrible buisness. and i wish i can add pictures because the whole bottom of the cone was filled with melted chocolate icecream and the whole cone was soggy it wasn’t that the icecream fell into the cone the icecream SAT...
