Gertrude Hawk Chocolates — Attraction in Town of Vestal

What can I say It's CHOCOLATE!!! And what can be better than that I have been shopping from Gertrude Hawks since I was a kid going with my mom into the store so we're talking well over half a century And now I go there to shop for my children as well

I used to go between Fannie Mae and Gertrude Hawks but then Fannie Mae left our community and Gertrude Hawks remained so it was great because I never had to change and like I said I have been shopping there since I was a kid I never get tired of getting something at least every other month for myself or for my kids!

They're chocolates have great flavor great smooth texture even with the crisps involved it's still a great wonderful taste on your tongue.

They've moved from different places in our area They were up in the Oakdale Mall (which is now Oakdale Commons) And then I guess they moved from there then they went to the vestal parkway, and then they shut down their store there and they have now moved over to the small little plaza where Michael's arts and crafts famous footwear Old Navy that little plaza there.

And it still chased just as good when you walk in there you'll see on the back wall some of the very old old molds that they used to use from years and years and years ago so they still keep up with their current tradition their current methods You will still find everything that changes every year to go with the season or the holidays but yes this is another highly recommended place to go to if you are a chocolate fanatic and yes they do have white chocolate for those who don't like the regular plain old chocolate and they also do have dark chocolate as well as milk chocolate.

I myself am very partial to the regular milk chocolate and peanut butter items but for me it doesn't matter I'll take any kind of chocolate from Gertrude Hawks

Ordered through the order and pick up in store because of a health issue. As soon as I got a notice, I went at opening to minimize exposure. Two gentleman ahead spent no more that 2 minutes to pick up. Easy. My turn. No order even though I showed them my confirmation and order on my phone. After a phone conversation with another employee, they told me I had picked the order up the night before. Nope. Advised them I had only gotten a notice that morning and I was the only one who knew about the order. Another 15 minutes goes by and now discover it was an order for someone who shared my last name, no relation. Like Gertrude Hawks never had two orders for people with like names. And now, they can't find my order cause they filled the order and deleted what someone thought was duplicated. Wrong In the meantime, 5 people who just came in to buy have done their shopping and are being checked out while I am standing virtually 2 feet from each of them, cause the store is quite small and social distancing is impossible. Now into 20 minutes waiting and I showed the employee my order on my phone and now she was entering the order into the system from MY phone so their records were correct. No one wore gloves. Luckily I keep sanitizer in my car. I should have just left, but had prepaid, so had to stick it out. They apologized, but hey if I get Covid, at least contact tracing...

We purchased 6 boxes of smidgens" as haloween gifts and we nded up with one. The milk chocolate covered pretzels. To say I was dissponted was an understatement the little pumpkin were cute but it wasnt what I thought a chocolate covered pretzel should be. It was crushed up pretzels the only way anyone would have been able to decipher it was pretzels was due to the salt.
