T3/T4 timeouts constantly causing my modem to reboot. First two technicians sent out told me everything looked fine. Third technician told me it was faulty wiring in my house line and rerouted a new line around my house. Still getting the timeouts. I've tried different modems (including one supplied by Time Warner cable), Different coax cables, different power supplies for the modem and nothing has fixed the issue. This is obviously something on their end but there doesn't seem to be any way to file an issue; their last resort is to "send out a technician" to give me the same rundown.
I've had this issue for months and I am at my wits end with dealing with this company. If there were any other reliable ISPs in the area I would switch in an instant, regardless of price. Easily the worst service I've ever experienced.
UPDATE: My issues have since been resolved, but not without a significant hassle and constant work on my end. I spoke to an online technician that indicated my issues seemed to be ingress on the line and that they would need to send out a technician to verify. He told me that technicians typically don't look for ingress on the line unless specifically told to. We scheduled an appointment and they sent out a technician that was able to verify that it was indeed ingress on the line caused by a neighbor on the same network. They adjusted the circuitry at the pole to reduce the effect my neighbors faulty equipment had on the network and scheduled an appointment with them to fix the issue on their end. Since then I've had a stable internet connection.
While I am relieved to finally have this resolved, the process involved to get to root cause has left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. TWC/spectrum is certainly willing to assist with any issues and are actually quite good at scheduling technicians and visits, however I have no confidence in their technical abilities to debug and fix their own network and hardware. I was a customer of spectrum's home internet for years and the internet was awful, rarely if ever got the speeds that were advertised by the way don't let them get you with this nifty trick they have in saying that "oh your service is for upto 500Mbps" which is what I paid for with the internet ultra plan, you almost never get that and its awful. Constant connectivity issues, constant disconnects, almost daily, got a faulty modem when I activated my internet, and on top of that their charges go up year after year, going from 75$ to 110$ over the course of three years for the same crappy service that constantly goes out. They're awful, I wouldnt recommend them to anybody. But then to put the icing on the cake, I recently switched to Greenlight Networks so I called today to have my services canceled and when I did the service representative was rude, condescending and belittling and because I never had a rep out to my house to diagnose my internet issues, or talk to them about lowering my prices they told me "Oh so you didnt take any rational steps before switching", which is the most unbelievably condescending and rude thing you can say to a person essentially calling them an idiot. The worst customer experience I've ever had and I will never pay for internet with them again, if greenlight goes out of business I will not come back, congratulations spectrum I hope youre happy you've lost a customer for life. Read moreThe only reason this place deserves any star is because the person who helped me was nice, but other than that my experience with Spectrum was awful and I will never come back. I had a reservation for 3pm to get a wifi router and I got there at 2:40pm and checked in (and they said I could check in up to 30 minutes early). I got a text saying I was in line then another follow up one a few minutes later that it was my turn to go. I walk inside and see other people were being helped and there was about 5 other people with walk in check ins. Not only did the walks ins get called up before me, people who got there AFTER me and were a walk in were being called up before me so don’t even bother making an appointment because they clearly don’t uphold it. I waited until 3:10pm (30 minutes) and eventually went up and asked what was going on and they said they would help me next ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY WERE OUT OF ROUTERS AND I WAITED FOR NOTHING. Why would you let me place an order for in store pick up (which I had ordered that morning) only for you to not even have the item. This place absolutely sucks and I’m warning everyone to never go here unless you absolutely have to.
Update: My router did NOT come in the next day. I was told it would be here by around 4pm the following day and now it’s not getting here until maybe tomorrow (2 days late) when I was supposed to get it the same day for in store pick up.
