Our daughter and now son-in-law chose View Center for Arts & Culture for their wedding because of its close proximity to family and it’s beautiful courtyard, but little did they know they would end up working with an amazing event coordinator as an added bonus. Alden is a tremendous asset throughout the entire planning process. He is very responsive and patient with questions and although new to the Old Forge area, has his thumb on the pulse of the community and the local businesses. On the day of the wedding, Alden was with us from mid-morning set-up until the last guest walked out the door at 10pm. He was even there to lend a helping hand during the next mornings clean-up. He brings with him a southern charm and hospitality that is unsurpassed at other venues. We cannot say enough good things about the View!! Our daughter’s wedding was amazing and we gained a new family friend along the way.

This building is beautiful. It has different levels, the quilt show they had was gorgeous! Beautifully done exhibiting amazing quilts. Upstairs are classrooms and they had other rooms with different displays, not just the quilts. People were friendly and they had gloves and wipes available. Face masks required.

I was told the chili bowl was the 10th. Drove almost 2 hours, only to find its the 17th. The lady at the counter was extremely polite and offered to let us see the gallery. She was a superstar.

I have always looked forward to the Watercolor Exhibition, which coincides with my annual trip to the Old Forge area. Lately, however, this show lacks the wonder and awe it used to hold for me. For one thing, the subject matter of the chosen works has changed from predominantly nature and beauty to dark and dingy infrastructure ( from various crumbling cities ) portraits of people who appear unhappy or in some sort of distress, and abstract images that lack anything that would engage me in any way. These are the things ( subjects) I travel up here to get away from. This year's exhibition was primarily and foremost subject matter I will see in some form or fashion by the side of the interstate. I didn't bother to vote this year for a favorite, because there...

I absolutely love the View. We own a summer home in the area and i look forward to the art exhibits and pottery classes every year. I’ve taken a photography class from the well known photographer Carl Heinman and even a basket weaving class. Kids love the waterpark but this is my grownup amusement park. The exhibits are an easy spontaneous visit but classes should be signed up in advance online. The watercolor exhibit is incredible, as well as the quilt show...
