Ok, I normally don’t leave reviews.I’m very torn on leaving only 3 stars, here is why.I have been to Water Safari for more than over 30 years.I used to live in state & now live out of state, &come back with my kids each year.We knew that it was recently sold &were curious to see what improvements have been made. Upon entry, there was no one navigating where to go.They’ve changed how to enter the park, which is very odd because if you have to buy a ticket(ticket prices jumped significantly.I understand inflation, but it was a huge jump, as well as the cabana prices, which we passed on), you then have to turn around, go back on yourself, &try and avoid the people in line behind you as you make your way to the security screening &go through a metal detector.Ok, not sure why we need that? It’s always been safe &this was odd.My mother walked through &it went off as did I, but she was told to step over because she had a tote bag, but so did I &the guy told me to go right ahead. That made no sense. If they want security, they need to be consistent. They didn’t even check in her bag, even though there is a bag check, which we thought they would check to make sure we are not bringing in any food since you no longer can bring in outside food(only season pass holders can bring in coolers). But there was nothing thorough about that.As we entered the park, I asked the attendant where I can buy splash cash &he did not even know what I was asking for It was an odd vibe, there was hardly anyone there.Normally, the place is jam packed &it was a super sunny day.We walked in shortly after opening. We went to our normal spot in the very back because we have younger kids. That too was extremely empty(hardly any of the cabanas were even sold the entire day).Since we have no food, we decided to buy the splash cash bracelet.Nothing opened in the back all day to buy food. With children, you would think that the cafe or the snack hut would be easily accessible and open. The only thing in the back that was open was the train station place, &I wouldn’t even call that food.We ventured forward to find something to eat.We were starving, so we ordered some boardwalk fries. The servers didn’t even fill the small container to the top nor the person next to us in line. For $6 that’s a bit absurd. We wanted a drink &got a mango daiquiri &we tasted it but there was definitely no alcohol in the daiquiri. My mom loves the funnel cakes, so we tried the funnel cakes. We noticed the people ahead of us, it was clearly burnt. We asked to not overcook ours. When it came out it was just as crispy &hard. The man behind me agreed &asked for his to be remade as well. After the second attempt, it was still the same.Enough was enough, I went to guest services &they were extremely friendly & understanding.I explained that for having to be confined to eat the food in the park that we should expect better quality & training to give the best experience possible(suggestion-healthier food options please).Luckily, we were refunded for the fries &funnel cake. The splash cash is a good idea, but that too was giving people problems today as well. The system kept freezing &every time the cashiers had to log out &reboot in order to run a transaction.Lastly, on the dry rides, at the tilt o whirl, we were waiting in line, there was a mom &a girl on the ride ahead of us, &the young girl was clearly crying & screaming in terror. The mom holding & consoling her.The attendant didn’t even stop the ride to let them off, my heart went out to the little girl. The ride went for the length. It seems the turnover of staff is very new, limited in speaking & understanding English, &are not trained properly enough at any service job they are doing. As for the positives, on the way out, my son noticed that someone was in the funnel cake stand with the attendants, rectifying it.Kudos on real time feedback, the park is just as pristine as ever, with amazing rides, & short lines. My concern, local clientele will be dismayed. Please use this constructive feedback to keep the nostalgia &care Water...
Read more08/16/25 - this place has been a family tradition for the past 30 years. before visiting this year I had concerns for my 3 year old grandson who is autistic and non- verbal- i called the staff 3x in weeks prior to my visit for several reason to assure we had a great/safe trip. i asked about my own float that has a bottom in it so that i could watch my grandson on the lazy river, as his mom and dad would be attending to their older children. I was advised that I needed to send the safely dept an email but that they didn't see why this would be a problem- when I went to use the float I was screamed at by some of the life guards as I was assuring them I got special permission- needless to say I was humiliated and then denied the use to enjoy the time on the lazy river. Also the amount of people to the amount of tubes avail to rent was crazy,(they had to park people at the airport and shuttle them in) the wait to go a slide/ lazy river (one time around was a 45 min wait) If your going to charge someone 50 dollars for a ticket you need to manage the space & amount of amenities/tubes that are required by law( i was advised for safety reasons.) -The staff advise me that they had more tubes to blow up but they had to bring all them back if people didn't bring them back, so they limit the amount sent out- (do a deposit thing maybe- so people return them) don't tell a paying customer- that waited most of the day to ride a ride that you are hiding tubes so you don't have retrieve them by the end of the night! also the new rule of you can't bring food in the park is terrible(how do you tell a family with 5 kids you can tailgate in your parking lot) wouldn't that be a safety concern bigger than your own float to protect your autistic grandson? needless so say -many of the 20 people that came with us do not want to return- i was advised "Disney's lines where not even this bad- we only got to ride 4 rides all day due to the long waits. i would also like to say maybe now that this big company owns the park PLEASE fix the concrete in the lazy river in the back of the park and the Paul Bunyan play area so terrible, it is so painful to walk on!!! The straight up, dangerous hills near the front of the park could be made easier to climb .- I was told by a manager who was so sincere that she would send tickets to make up for this trip as I purchased the family passes (because of the miscommunication about the float) she was so compassionate and told me her name several times i just forgot cause- WELLLLL I was real upset :( hopefully I hear from them so that they can redeem themselves of this unusual yucky family trip to our favorite family vacation. hoping they can also fix somethings to make it more enjoyable for everyone. the 2 stars was for the compassionate Manager response to me. hoping to to convince the family it was a one time thing and to...
Read moreThis place hasn’t changed much at all since I was a kid and I love every bit of it! Parking was well organized and we had zero wait for parking or getting in. And this was the week of the 4th of July! There is something for absolutely everyone! Tons of shade from trees and cut out areas in the woods with covered picnic tables. My sister even brought her 4 month old with zero issue keeping him cool and in the shade! We were tempted to get one of the pricy cabanas but in my opinion unless your planning on staying in one spot and you get that cabana at that spot it’s probably not worth it. We got there a little later in the day ( around 130) and we had zero problem finding two picnic tables under a pavilion in a great spot in the woods right below wave pool and the best food spots! We’ve never had any issue with leaving our beach bags and shoes etc at the tables but we do usually get a locker ( located right after the main gates across from snow whites castle) to lock up valuables . You can buy there or bring a water proof lanyard thing for your phone cards/money. I highly suggest investing in one! Our little kids (2-4yrs) loved all the water activities they have both in the front and all the way in the back that’s designed just for them! You can bring your kids down the small slides and even stand and catch them at the bottom ( there is staff at each tot slide as well) we always skipped the dry rides as kids but my littles actually loved all the little kid rides. Some of which you can ride with them! the big kids(9-19yrs)loved all the big slides! There were lines but don’t be intimidated it goes by quickly! and everyone loved the wave pool ( can be overwhelming with little ones but staying right at the edge and letting them sit down and enjoy getting knocked around a little by the waves was a big hit! ) lazy river ( littles have to either go on your lap or you can hold the tub and walk the river with them in it) train ( which you can actually use to get from front to back of park bc it stops) And walking through all the little houses. There’s even a little petting zoo with farm animals you can go right into and with change buy feed to feed goats and sheep . The lovely lady grabbed straw for us to feed bc we had no change. So much to do I highly recommend going for two days! We’ve done hotel stay, camping, and cabins… we loved the cabins the most! Some sit right above the park and they were really nice and a lot of fun when my entire extended family goes bc we rent a bunch of neighboring cabins! Also definitely buy tickets online, even if day of. It’s a little cheaper and you avoid any lines if there...
