Absolutely horrible way to run a business. Old Forge, as with most "seasonal" towns, has a very large population of "imported" employees. They speak decent English, yet it is very much a 2nd language. I hope the jerk who owns the place is saving a ton on his cheap labor. Jerk? Yes. There was one, old guy running around the kitchen, berating the employees. He was in direct view and easily audible to the customers. Not one kind word in the 30 minute wait for my order. I felt bad for them...at first. They don't deserve to be treated this way, but I think I have an understanding as to why he's so angry. The order in front of me was wrong. She came in 3 times to fix it. Language barrier. When the girl took my order, I could tell she didn't understand that I wanted sausage on the pizza. She charged me for a beverage I didn't order, allegedly in place of the actual charge for the topping. I was willing to let that pass over what i understand is 60 cents. When my order came, an older foreign lady growled back my order. It was wrong...no sausage. There was an argument among the employees. I did not have another 30 minutes to wait. 2 hungry kids and a 2 hour drive. I stopped here to save time. I wish I had gone to Walt's. Those people are the best. This is what happens when you skimp on labor and don't at least train them. I come to Old Forge often. I'll be back in a couple of weeks and again in August. I will be sure to verbally share this experience...
Read moreI don't think I can recommend stopping here but I sort of want to recommend it. It is so close to being great... but it just isnt. Let me explain first the food. It is bad the pizza is just sort of lifeless and rubbery with a little work it could be great but as it stands it's like eating bad school cafeteria pizza, everything else we had was fine perfectly as expected but the pizza was poor, and honestly I was not expecting a lot but just slightly above average. It is not above average. Then there is what should be a cool arcade... but nothing, around half of the games are broken or malfunctioning and they are the worst kind of sticky... they need cleaning badly.
If they can manage to fix the pizza and the broken arcade machines, both of which wouldn't be that hard this place could be amazing and nostalgic but still be appealing. It's just a shame they haven't gotten those...
Read moreI’ve only eaten here a few times and the pizza is decent. It’ll do. But the real reason I go back every year is the ARCADE. It reminds me of my childhood. Has so many vintage arcade games, and a very old school feel, it’s really fantastic. However I am writing the review bc we went TWICE over this past weeks vacation and the arcade was closed. When we inquired inside they said it was bc they were short staffed. Bummer! But I get it. If I could make a suggestion- just close down the ticket/prize counter and allow access to the coin operated machines when understaffed! We would still go in there and blow 20 or 30 bucks just to play Pac Man, Galaga, Mortal Kombat and Ninja Turtles. Please ….DONT LET...
