Great local "Broadway Quality" entertainment at a fair price. A true gem to the Hudson Valley and an asset to the community in a comfortable space with varying diversity and style to each production. The owners/directors utilize many opportunities to give back to the community by supporting individuals in need as well as bringing carefully selected performers of all ages and talents from all over the world including many from right in our own back yards. Every student of the New York Conservatory for the Arts has the opportunity to perform with their peers and the professional cast at The Woodstock Playhouse at least one time annually. When I was younger, I went to the Woodstock Playhouse when it was still an outdoor venue. I recall seeing the Wizard of Oz there. It was wonderful to get to come back, all these years later to see the newly redone and beautiful theater and watch a production of the wizard of oz. Truely classic. The environment is friendly and the owners seem very happy to be able to share with you what they have clearly worked very hard on. Over the summer I had the pleasure of seeing their summer stock performances. The shows were put together so wonderfully and very professionally. We have had a fantastic experience at the Woodstock Playhouse! Over the last few years we have enjoyed going to see their summer musicals, and they always present an incredibly professional and polished production. From "The Producers" to "Legally Blonde", to "Les Miserables", "Chicago", "Guys and Dolls", "Beauty and the Beast", and so many others, we love getting to see every production! And what a pleasure to get to see a musical AND see a live pit orchestra!
