While the food here has always been good and the wait staff is always nice, our recent visit was disappointing. After working in restaurants in my younger life, I understand they have many moving parts and are difficult enterprises to run. That said, this experience left a lot to be desired. We were promptly seated outside as requested, which we appreciated. But the table was sticky, and I ended up cleaning it myself while the waitress asked if we wanted anything besides water—without offering more napkins or to clean the table.
When our food arrived, the server asked about ketchup, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. I didn’t hear the latter. My partner declined hot sauce, but no condiments were brought. The toast was buttered but not adequately, and by the time I finally tracked down more butter—after waiting, asking the hostess, and then going inside—the toast and eggs were cold.
When I raised these concerns with the owner, she initially apologized and I thought, “Okay, good.” But then she returned and said, “I have to push back,” focusing on technicalities: “the toast is always buttered,” “the staff always asks about condiments,” and so on. She ignored the sticky table and the fact that many people don’t know what they want to season their food with until after tasting it. Instead of considering the overall experience, she dismissed it. When I said that if she needed to push back we simply wouldn’t return, she responded, “That’s good to hear because we don’t want you here.”
Breakfast for two—just pancakes, eggs, and potatoes—was nearly $50 with tip, for less than $5 worth of ingredients. I understand restaurants have overhead, staff, and other costs, but when prices are that high, professionalism and care matter even more. The food is good, the staff is kind, but professionalism and respect from the owner were absent. To her credit, after our exchange, she did appear more...
Read moreSO Everything truly comes in 3’s for me! It was my 3rd time back here at this classy place. DJ Tryst was spinning 80’s music for on Friday Night, 8/1/2025. The night was magnetic and SO electric. All of us became ONE having fun and dancing! There was a wedding couple their with their party, there were 2 punk rockers dressed so cool, A woman blowing bubbles from a bubble machine and me sharing a unique moment with another that revived me. I was mesmerized as always walking into this place or shall I say a David Bowie song was being spun by Tryst and I danced my way ‘in’ and then saw the cool imagery Tryst had on the screens & the fog machine that was blowing making it mysterious. This was also the 3rd time I had planned on seeing Tryst but didn’t make it the last 2 times, once being end of March at The Unicorn Bar in Kingston and just recently at Snugs Harbor in New Paltz. Synchronicity it was as it was the 3rd music event of the day for me and I was tired but made myself drive from New Paltz to Woodstock. I had just had a delicious breakfast at Pearl Moon the week before and just sat in wonder then of how this place was so perfectly put together as I lingered after breakfast just walking around the place in awe! The first time I went here was April 17 of 2022 with a full moon the previous day! I had my Sunburst Guitar with me in my Dark Blue ‘Pearl’ (her name) Jeep Wrangler and I had just asked ‘hey, I know I am not a scheduled person to play but can you just mic me up and I play some sounds off my guitar?’ and I was told yes to my surprise! Every time IS magic in this place! GO and experience Pearl Moon for yourself and post a review! Thank you Pearl Moon for the space that night and Thank you DJ Tryst for playing there and me FINALLY seeing you 8/1/2025! - With So MUCH LOVE,...
Read moreI would only recommend this place to you if you enjoy lighting dollar bills on fire. If you get off to paying upscale dining prices for mediocre food, this is your spot!
We were visiting from out of town on a gorgeous fall weekend and screwed up by waiting until Friday afternoon to make a Friday evening dinner reservation. Our first options were totally booked up but we called Pearl Moon after reading some good reviews and having a couple of locals recommend it. It should have been a red flag to us that the place was only 1/3 full when everywhere else in town was booked up; but desperate to satisfy Friday night appetite after a long day on our feet enjoying the beauty of Hudson Valley we decided to give it a try.
Looking at the menu they charge a $1 extra to get lettuce on your burger and $2 extra for tomatoes… this should be standard for your burger. My mom noticed that the impossible burger came with pickles but it wasn’t listed under the regular burger. She asked our waitress if she could get pickles on the regular burger and the waitress just said “no”… so bizarre. Never been to a place that would deny you pickles on a hamburger. This was just an injustice.
I got a cup of the soup de jour which was beef barley. Progresso’s beef barley soup in a can blows Pearl Moon’s beef barely soup away. The broth was watery and there was one piece of beef and maybe a half tablespoon of barley… My salad with the pepita tofu and my cocktail were pretty good which is why I gave this place two stars instead of one. Also has nice decor.
I can go on for days for pricing crimes this restaurant committed but just do yourself a favor and go to any other restaurant in Woodstock...
