I have been attending the small classes at Desert Fitness 3 times a week for more than 3 years. They have changed my life. I am 81 years old, and have a bit of trouble keeping up with the younger folks, but my instructors happily adjust the difficulty of the exercise if I'm struggling. I have increased my muscle mass, and lost 2 sizes in my clothes, plus I feel younger. Also I look forward to my classes because of the friends I have made here.

Fans blwoing full blast over every part of the gym, even the weights. I don't want to be freezing when I'm trying to sweat and keep my body warm. That's really my only issue. If they could turn the fans down or off I would have a good comfortable workout however when asked, the staff had no clue how to work the fans. Sounds kind of like they'd rather not deal with my request.

Great gym! Friendly staff, very clean, good variety of equipment. Lots of “regulars” here which is a good sign they are doing things right. Sometimes busy with personal/group training sessions but that’s to be expected and has never been a problem for me. Plus it’s quiet. No gym bros playing loud music or slamming weights.

I dislike leaving bad reviews but I feel it is necessary to share my story to warn others...* BUYER BEWARE OF THE NUTRITION SERVICES at the gym * It is based on locking you into a binding “PERSONAL TRAINING CONTRACT” that they omit to adequately inform you upon consultation. I was not provided a printed copy of the contract to read. It was supposedly e-mailed to me but I never received a copy... When I asked the nutrition coach for a copy the next day, she did not take any ownership to provide me with a copy and stated that “the gym handles it”. I made the mistake of trusting her and Darla to have my best interest in mind. When I explained the program wasn’t a good fit for me, and that the pricey $300/mo would be better spent towards helping my family, I found out it too late. I now get calls everyday from a third party company stating the only way out of this contract is for medical injury or moving due to military (not sure how they are extrapolating these terms from a personal training to nutrition).

I am very disappointed by the lack of transparency and communication at this gym as this does NOT foster client trust. Furthermore, the lack assistance to resolve this issue when I expressed my concerns where disregarded. I will be providing feedback to the owner of the facility as there are major opportunities to improve implementation of nutrition services. My hope that my mistake will help other from being taken advantage of by these seemingly predatory...

Just switched to this gym from a chain gym. I really enjoy the equipment it seems like a good mix of traditional weights mixed with machines. The hours work well for my schedule and the gym never seems too crowded. Will follow up as I go. So far I am very happy with my choice to switch to this gym. **Update 6/18: becoming less enthused not due to the gym but due to the clientele. it bothers my BF more than myself but a lot of the regulars are pretty rude. I am a get in, work out then get out kinda gal so I'm not there to socialize but there are a few that just stare at people with RBF. I'm courteous and rack my weights and wipe down equipment after using so I'm not really sure what the problem is. we commit to a year contract so hopefully it gets better or we get used to it. *Update 7/5 Was ecstatic to cancel the membership today. My SO went in to cancel and was directed to call an 800 number to cancel. The 800 number informed us that although today was our last payment of our 12 month agreement, there is a 30 day cancellation policy so there will be one more payment required. Apparently it is in the contract, I don't recall it. I am waiting on a copy to be sent to me. I did some research and found that there have been many billing related complaints lodged with the better business bureau. I will abide by what is supposedly in the contract but if I am billed again I will pursue legal action. PLEASE LOOK AT THE BBB REVIEWS BEFORE COMMITING...

Thankfully I know a bit about contract law and how it works. I'm not a big gym type of person and I didn't feel comfortable signing up here but my insurance company told me that they covered this and my daughter wanted something to keep us fit until we moved. I normally give in to her whims and that was my mistake. This sounded like the perfect fit as an in between. I didn't know how to use the equipment and apparently I needed to make an appointment to learn how to use it. If I had waited to make an appointment, it would have taken my daughter and I both out of the 3 day grace period between signing up and a true membership. I was in the gym for a whole half hour and not one person asked me if I needed help. When I expressed interest in a dance class I was told I would have to stand in the back because I was new. What wasn't known by the instructor was the fact I probably could have picked up the dance style rather quickly since I have danced since I was a child. I still had to go through my bank to get my money back. Be careful and remember you have only a 3 day grace period anywhere because some places...
