I enthusiastically recommend Lee Walker at Monument Camera in Tucson, Arizona. From the instant I contacted him, my experience was truly incredible. I wished to sell my original 1960s Pentax 6x7, along with several accessories, but due to some mobility problems, I couldn’t get to the store. I sent an email to Lee, detailing my circumstances and inquiring if a home visit could be arranged. To my astonishment, within 24 hours, Lee was in my living room.
He was extremely courteous, respectful, and professional. He requested to bring the whole collection to his shop for cleaning and to conduct a more detailed assessment, which, to be frank, I usually would not have felt at ease with. However, after examining his online profile and observing his sincerity, I placed my full trust in him. Lee guaranteed that he would have everything prepared by 5:00 PM that very day, including a reasonable offer.
As he promised, Lee returned precisely as he said he would. He made me feel understood, dedicating time to hear my story about the camera and my belief that my prices were reasonable. He showed great respect for my viewpoint and honored me with dignity during the whole process. His assessment was not only fair, but his efficiency and professionalism surpassed all my expectations.
Lee also ensured I had an option in the payment method, making it as convenient for me as possible. It's uncommon to meet someone who exceeds expectations like this, but Lee Walker undoubtedly does. For a trustworthy, fair, and truly kind expert in Tucson, Monument Camera is the destination, and Lee Walker is the individual you should collaborate with. You’ll be pleased you did, it’s an...
Read moreMe and my lady went to this camera store when we were visiting Tucson for the few days on a road trip. I was looking for a camera shop online and found Monument before we left. Had no expectations was just looking for film, but when we got there it was already such a calming and nice environment. When you walk in there are tons of vintage camera and tons of supplies for any of your photography needs. Lee the shop owner was with some customers at the time of our arrival but once they left he gave us all his attention. I live in San Diego and my local camera shop is mainly modern with multiple employees but Lee’s shop feels like a small town feel. He was super helpful with information I needed and also the kindest. He showed us all kinds of cameras and offered us great choices. One spark of conversation is that he has a pile of vintage camera stuff that he gives away every so day. My lady found a camera there and was really wanting to take it. He gave it to her for free but after figuring out it didn’t work he was trying to find similar cameras. While we were looking around he told us how he found this camera and was testing it out by putting batteries and a memory stick inside. After he found out it work he gave it to her to try it. Once she loved it she asked how much it cost and said “you can have it”. While we were leaving my girlfriend was also really loving a keychain that he has with his business cards around it. My girlfriend once again asked how much were they and said “you can take that”. He also gave me a keychain for free as well. Only reason I would come back to tuscon is tomorrow visit this camera shop once again and...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic camera shop! The employees here are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely take the time to answer all my questions. They happily showcase cool gear and even indulge my camera ramblings—sorry for that, I just get so excited. I recently reignited my passion for photography after a rough patch in life, and I was genuinely thrilled to be there—they were just as happy to have me. The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive, perfect for hobbyists, professionals, or anyone curious about cameras.
Photography is the essence of the moment, captured to pause that moment forever. It requires the photographer to slow down and be immersed in the present. It's more than just a picture; it's a story, a feeling, a piece of time displayed for all to see. This shop beautifully embodies that spirit through its artists, photographers, and employees. They even develop film, which is a rare and valuable service these days. We often forget how far kindness can go in brightening someone’s day, and the staff here truly exemplifies that. McKenzie, Alexis and Jacob are all phenomenal employees. They put a smile on my face every year time I walk through the door. Thank you for being awesome people. If you have any interest in cameras, this is the place to be. Great prices and they’ll set you up with the best kit for your specific...
