Do Not fall for their deception & cunning ways. I have faithfully paid my rent for 14 yrs. every month and since they have taken over this place has gone down, down, down. They just had the water turned off recently (a continual issue) which only a band-aid short time fix. They have A/C issues where the cooler does not cool properly in summertime and we have lost electricity for the last few years for 1 to a few days. I'm away camping during summer so I am not affected as much. Living here without a fan during summer could be a problem if you have health issues. They can care less once you have signed a lease. Once you are in they got you- HSL Property's love these 2 Crows because they are filling this place up (with the wrong people). From prostitutes, drugs, people not on the lease, people looking for cigarette butts in your patio, begging for money, clothes stolen in laundry room, car's stolen. A few of us "long timer's) have moved out and are moving out. If the new Slumlord doesn't care that I have been here 14 yrs and I still have to deal with people fighting around me late @ late what does THAT tell you??!! I went out to sit in my patio late one night and found a lady in my patio! She had the nerve to ask to borrow my phone!! I have had a car stolen from here, have had to deal with begging people & the noise- Soon as I find another place I am out. Myself personally, i'd rather learn from someone elses knowledge and NOT go through it myself. So take heed to my words. SLUMwood is a more appropriate name for this ghastly place. Keep Looking !!! Roach infestation that didn’t go away with the apartments pest guy so I used Home Defense and Roach motels to keep roaches away and that worked, mold that was never addressed and they kept denying was there, constant issues with management. If anything breaks they bandaid the work for it to still be broken or break again in a week or less. The hot tub was never working and really green all the time causing mosquitoes. I strongly recommend keeping a record by submitting ur own maintenance requests online and sending emails (which they almost never answer back btw). Take pictures as proof. Then call code enforcement and report it to them. This will get them working to resolve the issue with your apartment quickly. I always paid rent on time and the only issues I caused was when they weren’t doing their part. I did have a horrible experience because the cooling system broke down on July 18th and it's finally getting fixed today August 1st (God willing it'll be up and running by the end of the day). I will say that Edgar, the manager, has been doing his best. He's been keeping us, the residents, updated with everything as it happens. Which I think shows how much he cares for each tenant in a personal level. I may not be happy with HSL, Rachel in particular, who made me feel like I don't matter by telling me I should be happy because yesterday was a much cooler day than we have had lately as well as telling me she wasn't able to resolve my issues, as if I was complaining about not getting my mail.
