This is Tucson, the self proclaimed "foodie town" so naturally, you can't throw a rock around here without hitting some sort of sandwich/sub shop. That being said, with so many different options it can be hard to find something that stands out from the rest of the crowd and yet... Hogie House has managed to do just that. The classic "vintage" design fits perfectly with the warm atmosphere and friendly, personal experience you get from the staff and the quality food that they serve. The menu is quite extensive and just like with most sandwich shops, you can customize your order to your liking. I personally had the 12" meatball sub and it was absolutely HUGE. It was absolutely stuffed with massive juicy meatballs, great sauce, and my own customized toppings. As someone who has been to places like Subway many times before, the sheer size and quality difference is astonishing. I saw several reviews that were complaining about the menu prices here but considering that you would pay at least close to the same amount for less than half the quality at a Subway, I'd say that the price is justified. Give it a try and see for...

I've tried a handful of sandwich shops in the area, and honestly this would be the shop I'd recommend people visiting Tucson to go to. Being from the east coast where sandwiches are almost a staple in every city, I am proud to say that these sandwiches are great.
My favorite go to sandwich from here is the steak and onion, but you can't go wrong with classics like turkey or ham. The store has a decent selection of chips and fountain drinks. The very first time I came here, the sides options were limited. Now they offer French fries and potato salad amongst other things. But the main focus is the hoagies. The most important aspect on any sandwich is the bread, and that is what they do right at this shop. For some odd reason, other sandwich shops here miss the mark on their food, and it usually starts off with the bread.
Store itself has a nice retro / homey feel to it. Staff is always friendly and easy to get along with. The store itself is kept clean, never ran into any problems at...
Read moreAlways exceeds my expectations on food quality and service. I love eating here. It was one of the first places following "corona virus or covid-19, or even SARS-cov"(all names describing the exact same virus) ... That actually opened to the public to include dine-in experience. And as human beings we need human contact to be a healthy individual emotionally. It's very important. This isn't my opinion either. It has been confirmed via several different social experiments. Anyway, I really appreciated that they opened the dine-in portion, considering how many restaurants did not. My husband and me were actually able to enjoy a lunch together in public, not sweating our butts off in the park. It was nice. Plus the food, as always, was delicious! It's so simple but yum!!! During quarantine we regularly ordered from here too. I missed the old Pac-Man table and their awesome lobby but at least I still got to eat their food. Anyway, thanks hoagie house! Keep doing...
