Stayed here for 4 nights. Came here a little early on the day of check in and tried to check in early but unfortunately my room was not available. I just stayed in the lobby in the "business" area and just accessed the wifi to do my work. They have coffee and water for you while you wait. The staff were very nice and pleasant. The wifi speed was fine for my purposes. Upon checking in, I got a free warm chocolate cookie and 2 water bottles.
The room was spacious. The bathroom layout is a little different. Sink is outside, just the toilet and shower is enclosed in a separate small room. I wish there was more space. The toilet height was excellent. The AC worked very well and could easily be controlled. The fridge was already set to be cooled. I didn't have to adjust it. The main door is a little different from most hotels. It's basically glass doors/windows from floor to ceiling so you need to draw the curtains if you want privacy. Otherwise people from the outside can see in. At the opposite end of the room, you have your balcony.
The sink, shower, toilet worked well. After the first night, I had to call maintenance to snake the tub and sink because I thought the water was draining slowly. The handle on the shower was a little loose so even though you set it to a certain spot, over the course of your shower, it will have migrated some distance. None of the shower head holes were clogged but the water pressure was just okay. I prefer a stronger water pressure. Some of the metal on the shower faucet and the metal circular piece/cover in the tub had stains on it and probably could use a little better cleaning.
You can barely hear the noise from the streets while inside your room at night. I had no issues sleeping. The stiffness of the mattress was perfect. The pillows were soft, I prefer it to be stiffer. Despite that, I was able to get a good nights rest.
The complimentary breakfast was good. They had scrambled eggs, whatever eggs you want made to order, sometimes omelette styled eggs, sausages, bacon, tater tots, and pancakes. Also had fresh fruit, yogurt, various juices, coffee, bagels, bread, and muffins. I thought the breakfast options were fairly standard and the staff were quick to take your plates away and clean the tables so there was plenty of seats available. Some pieces of fruit that I had, I thought they might have been a little sour, in the sense that it might have started to go bad. Sometimes it's difficult to tell because all the fruits are mixed into one bowl.
The office chair and setup is not ideal because there is very little lighting that shines onto the office desk. Even with the desk lamp, it's very dim. Overall, the lighting in the room was dim. I also think the carpets need a deeper cleaning. The couch in the rooms were comfortable enough for me.
For my purpose of the stay, I thought the suites was fine. The place is definitely a little older and probably constantly under some kind of maintenance. Check out was smooth, quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this place if you're not looking for something luxurious and just want to get well rested for the intent...
Read moreIt is one of the quietest hotels I've stayed in. The rooms are all large, two room suites. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, a bar sink, a safe. It's an older hotel and the bathrooms (toilet/shower area) are not nearly as big as newer modern hotels, but the sink area is nice and modern. There's a large television in the living area and a smaller one in the bedroom. The bedroom television could be bigger but not horrible.
This is where it loses its first star. When you go on a vacation, or a business trip, you are either hoping for comforts of home, or expect better than the comforts of home. The hotel has removed the ability to use the ports on the television, forcing you to only use the hotel's option of entertainment instead of accessing your own. The use of a Firestick, Roku, DVD player, video game console or other device are all completely out. If you have kids and use one of those devices for their entertainment, it's a no go.
The small bathroom is something you can't change (architectural/plumbing) but in my opinion the ability to access your own entertainment is a major flaw the hotel's operations.
The next item would probably have made many people give it 1 star or no stars if they could but I'm only going to reduce it by a star because it's something that's most likely a fluke that can be remedied easily.
I'm my mind, three things could have happened. 1. A previous patron of the hotel removed the shower curtain, layed it on the floor, then proceeded to shave all of his or her pubic hairs all over the curtain and then replaced it back on the rod. 2. He/she shaved their nether regions and then individually placed their hairs all over the shower curtain. 3. Someone in another room shaved themselves, the shower curtains commingled in the washing machine, and the hairs were transferred to multiple shower curtains to include my room and others. I don't know.
The shower curtain was the type with the removable lower, inside section that I would hope is replaced and washed after every patron who stays in the hotel. Unfortunately, the rest of the shower curtain was cloth and covered in little black curlies. Both sides.
The room was sealed with the Hilton Clean Stay sticker, but it makes me wonder how clean it really was with all the public hairs. They were plainly obvious.
It is these reasons that I give the room a three star.
If you go, you need to go down the street to Little Anthony's Diner! You will...
Read moreWe would definitely consider staying here again! The hotel is conveniently located near major restaurants, fast food options, shopping and gas stations. It is in a safe location and bonus points for being a two minute walk through the neighboring parking lot for an quick Starbucks run!!!
Upon checking in, we were greeted warmly by the staff and provided with complimentary cookies (although a nut free option would have been preferred). We brought to their attention a mistake with our reservation, as we were provided a pool-view room not the (higher priced) pool-side room we reserved. Unfortunately, we were told that there were no more pool-side rooms available at that time. We settled for the pool-view with a discount that was better than the price we would have booked it for online. However, we were much happier in the end being on a second floor end unit with a quick walk down the stairs next to our room and the pool entrance right at the bottom of the stairs rather than being on the first floor with the noise from the pool and foot traffic most of the day/night.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the hotel is dated, especially the rooms (and carpet). However, they were clean and comfortable. The separate bedroom and living room, as well as the included wet bar area with a fridge and microwave were all very convenient. As also mentioned, be prepared! the bathroom (with only a shower and toilet...the sink is located outside the bathroom within the bedroom) is SUPER tight and I am very tiny!
I found the lobby more updated and very nice and the pool area and small restaurant/bar very charming and convenient, allowing the adults to have a drink by the pool while the children play. The housekeeping and pool staff were always observed to be hard at work keeping the place clean. The dinner chef came out to speak to both my husband and myself on two separate occasions to discuss food allergies and even offered to have the morning staff call him if needed as he did not come in until noon. He was very accommodating and worked hard to make sure we had safe options for dinner and breakfast. The breakfast buffet was delicious and generous, just be patient with the hard working staff as they refill and refresh the food during the busier times of...
