Engagement ring story:
I found a silver cubic zirconia ring at the thrift that I wanted to use as my engagement ring. It was a size too big, so I brought it to Valencia for resizing. Things were looking to be on track to be finished before my wedding, but the stones were scorched during resizing (it happens, silver is highly conductive).
I waited for new stones to be placed and they were kindly offered free of charge. When I went to pick up my finished ring, I noticed a stone was missing. Again, they offered to replace it for free. Weeks later, my husband went to pick up the ring again. When he brought it back I noticed that one of the prongs was bent to hold a noticeably recessed stone in place and a portion was covered in jeweler's glue. It was not a piece that I was proud of wearing
I was dismayed after waiting patiently for the original issues to be rectified that I called and gave some feedback to the store manager. I let them know that I was disappointed in the quality of the ring returned to me, and even more so surprised that I was not updated on changes that had been made to the ring. Granted, the stones were small and challenging to work with, but if I had been notified before my husband picked up the ring that the prong was bent to hold in the stone I would have asked them to take a closer look.
After calling one final time to see if there was anything that could be done given the situation, Valencia Jewelry offered me one of their rings from their store, free of charge. My husband and I got to take some time and choose a beautiful princess cut ring (far right photo) that I would not have purchased on my own, given that I primarily shop second hand. It's lovely and I smile when I look down at it given the positive associations.
I am grateful to have a satisfying conclusion to this story; I couldn't have anticipated the offer of a new engagement ring and it's a very sweet gesture. In the future, I would recommend that the retailers continue to update their customers on any modifications to pieces outside of the norm and double check products for quality after being received from the off-site jeweler. That said, thank you again for the new ring and making...
Read morewent here for a pin for my watch only to find it permanently closed! Unfortunately I found out the owner Jorge had passed away literally 2 weeks before I was there. This was my third trip and second watch to be serviced. Such a nice guy. Sorry to hear about the loss. Hopefully the new sage shop lasts as long as he did here,as my trips were 8years ago, 5 years and last month. Now I have to find a new watch shop ,that's not a chain. That was one of my main reasons for...
Read moreSo awesome! My first watch just needed a new battery and it was a really quick replacement. My second watch I have had forever and I love it, used it daily for 9 years and wore it down, the face and dial ring were moving around through out the day and wouldn’t tell the right time. He got a new movement put in and secured the loose parts. Works perfectly. So happy to have my old watch back! Thank you for the friendly service! Will definitely be bringing my...
