I just had the most unpleasant experience I've ever had at a restaurant, or any place of business for that matter. First off, I'm an Uber delivery driver, not a customer, so I understand that that makes the relationship different. Their primary duty is not to serve me. But, there is a limit to how you will let someone speak to you, in ANY context, before you speak up for yourself. I do not understand how a manager can ever think that that was an appropriate way to interact with someone in their place of business.
I had to pick up that was running late. This in and of itself is not a big deal, it happens a dozen times a day. I ultimately chose to cancel the pickup, which again, is something that happens many times a day - Uber will just route another driver who will get there a bit later, closer to when the order is finished. But they had been very curt with me, and I made the cardinal mistake, instead of just having the grace to drive off, to express that I wish they had just been honest and upfront with me about an ETA.
Long story short, the situation escalated very quickly, with the manager threatening to take adverse action against me with Uber, and to have me trespassed.
My two main complaints are: 1) the speed at which the manager escalated things. Usually when you try to register a complaint at a place of business you get to talk to someone for a little bit without being threatened with arrest. I know it's going to be a giant game of he said she said, and if you ask her she's going to say I was being super aggressive and nasty. But believe me, I am fully well aware of how little recourse we as drivers have, they can take adverse actions against us and leave bad reviews against us and we can't do anything in return. I don't make a practice of burning myself professionally. I could not have been more tepid with how I was registering my complaint. If anything I probably should have been more assertive. Anything less and I wouldn't have said anything at all. In my opinion, her escalation was completely insane, and absolutely not something she would have done to a paying customer. She seemed to know how little recourse I had, and was just so obviously enjoying lording her power over me, with a big smile the whole while she was explaining what action she was going to take against me. With how quick she went to threatening to hurt me professionally, it's hard to imagine she hasn't done this to drivers before. She knew exactly what to say to try to intimate me into submission.
Which brings me to my second complaint: 2) her threatening of me bothered me a lot less than her mocking me and accusing me of lying. From the moment she came out to me, she was misrepresenting what I had said, what she had said, and basically mocking my own words back to me as if I was being far more aggressive then I had been. And again, unless there are audio or video recordings of our interactions, I understand this is just a giant game of he said she said. And there's really nothing I can do about it. But again, there's simply a limit to how you will let someone speak to you. Whatever the relationship, professional or not, when someone is standing there so obviously disrespecting you, eventually you're not just going to sit still and take it. So if this is all I can do, put words onto the world that a couple dozen people will ever see, so be it.
I have called Sonic corporate and registered a complaint, called Uber and registered a complaint, and I'm now leaving this review.
The manager said her name was Mary White.

Read moreI've been going to this sonic for about 2 years now it's right by the recording studio I frequent and I always stop by, park and grab a 32oz Grape Slushy with Nerds. This Saturday (07/12/25) 9:50pm I was in a bit of a rush so I ran through the drive through. BIG MISTAKE. It was only me and one other person in front of me waiting by the drive through window. They take a little while to answer which I will say in all honesty is normal for this sonic but I can usually forgive but i'm in a rush today. I finally order my drink pull up and wait. I see my drink in the guys hand behind the lady at the window and they are just chatting away with no urgency. He hands her my drink and I watch her as she stirs it or so I thought. Then I get my drink and rush over to my appointment. I get there take a sip and just straight grape syrup so I open it up and look and they didn't stir my slushy like at all. It was pure white on the top and I bring my straw up from the bottom sure enough all the grape and nerds are sitting at the bottom. I can't leave so my girlfriend goes back to get it stirred. They told her oh we can't take it back but here's a plastic spoon. My girlfriend asks you want me to stir it? She goes yeah you really got to get in there as well just really stir it around good.... It's a full thick 32oz slushie sonic how are supposed to stir that with a small plastic spoon thats your job not mine. She comes back to tell me the bad news and deliver my spoon and unstirred drink. I dont want to make her go back so angrily I stir as much as I can and even after like 10 minutes most off the grape is at the bottom still its now a light purple color (usually deep deep purple) but just still tastes bad and I'm at a business I don't have anything to help me out. We call the sonic and ask why what happened and they say well I'm sorry bring it back and we'll stir it for you. Well we already did and you refused so no thank you hung up and threw my drink away.
I rate one star to the atmosphere because my God its rough. Half the drive up stalls aren't even on the other half of the stalls that are on don't work. Almost all of them are damaged either from the sun or god knows what else. Just not the best looking sonic Ive been to.
The service is usually nice. You are just going to be waiting probably double the amount of time you would usually wait at a sonic. But hey at least they are nice about it when they tell you too stir you own slushy with a plastic spoon.
Overall maybe just skip this sonic. There is a nice Freddys just a bit more...
Read moreI rarly write bad reviews. I love Sonic. Been going to other locations since I was 5. This is about service. I will make it clear, mistakes happens. It is what a company does to fix that mistake is what matters. I arrived at the sunshine mile location late Sunday night. There were three stalls used at arrival, one in drive through. A far cry to the busy locations in Texas and surrounding areas. Me and my wife ordered two frozen beverages at the stall. Simple order. Five, than ten, than 15 minutes passes and know sign of delivery. Than a car pulls into a stall nearby. They order and get there items quickly. I flagged down the employee and they went in to get a manager. The manager cones out and says, "are you the ones that ordered the frozen beverages?" I replied, "yes mam" she responds, "well we thought you ordered from the drivethrough and than drove off allowing them to melt. We tossed them". This made me upset as there was no apology given for wasting 20 minutes of my time. I arrived at the sunshine mile location late Sunday night. She than said, "we can refund you or remake them for you if you want." I replied, " no thankyou" and left. The manager never offered a free or discount on their mistake. Sonic is a great place. I have ordered at sonic over 500 times in different parts of the country. I will never order from that location again. No one should. They deserve only to be shut down permanently as they were temporarily during the road...
