Feb 2022 Update: I think this park might be currently closed due to construction. Bathrooms there have been closed/locked for weeks, and there is construction tape around some areas. I didn't realize that Fort Dent Park is inside of the Starfire sports complex. This park offers a jungle gym and a walking trail around a small pond. I imagine it's mostly used by soccer moms and dads passing the time while their kid plays soccer at one of the many clubs.
During the day, this place (Starfire) is fairly empty, but at night, it comes alive with hundreds of young soccer players. As such, if you go during one of the evening hours when practices start or end (e.g., 6:30pm, 8:00pm), you'll encounter a sea of cars entering and exiting. This is because there's just one entrance to Starfire (due to surrounding geography of the Green River, Black River, and train tracks). There's a restroom available, but the men's restroom has a trough for a latrine and usually smells horrible.
I find it odd that a public park is inside what I thought was a private, semi-elite sports complex. If you're looking for an alternative park, there's Tukwila park nearby that offers more walking trails, a basketball hoop, squash wall, and a...
Read moreThis park is awesome if your a bicycler for sure!!! I started way over near oakesdale and grady and rode through corporate parks, found a paved trail and it took me there after wiggling around on different trails for a bit. I have a mountain bike, it's pave but also there are PLENTY of places to go backcountry of the beaten path mini trails connected to this one.The best part about this park is that it is sort of a hub for a bicyclist to get to many different parks or just even shortcuts to where. you normally go anyway if your local. I got lucky and caught an awesome sunset. i'll be riding through there again soon. I think i found like a couple solid hours of riding around not only that park but the trails leading...
Read moreFort Dent Park is a park and a children's playground located within the Starfire sports fields complex. The park itself is very big but it can also get crowded when there are soccer games happening in the nearby soccer fields. The park has slides, swings, and plenty of climbing equipment for the kids to burn off their energy!
The park and sports fields are located in the Green River Trail and the Lake to Sound Trail. You'll see plenty of joggers, runners, walkers, bikers, and all sorts of people on the trail making a pit stop by Starfire and the park.
Ample parking but it can get very packed on game days.
Food, snacks, abs other cafe goodies are available in...
