DO NOT GO HERE! Our experience was terrible and we will never be back to this location. There was only one employee working at 6pm on a weekday, which probably should have been a sign. We stood in line watching that employee take over 10 minutes to make one burrito and a quesadilla and another 5 to figure out how to use the iPad to checkout.
When it came time to order we were greeted very coldly. We asked for a burrito and a taco salad. I feel like this would have been a good time to warn us about all the ingredients they were out of because if we had known we wouldn't have stayed. For the "protein" option we tried to get steak, then fish, then chicken, and finally settled on ground beef for both of us because we were tired of being told no and we saw that was available. Next they were out of almost all the fresh vegetables so our only options were tomatoes, cilantro, and salsa (which they did have multiple options for amazingly). We then asked for cheese, frustrated that we had to ask for something that was listed as a staple ingredient on the menu, only to find that they were out of that as well. I mean Mexican food without cheese? My girlfriends taco salad was just a sad pile of beans, beef, and salsa. I'll also mention that it looked tiny and didn't fill up the bowl at all. If you're out of most of your ingredients at least give me a little extra of what you do have so it looks like a full serving.
This was the final straw for me, but we weren't done yet. I asked if I could have guacamole in my burrito to which she replied "for an extra charge". I then asked if that could be waived as a replacement for the cheese, trying to gain back a bit of dignity, but was told no. She proceeds to take a spoonful of guac and slop it in the burrito without a single attempt to spread it around. Instead of some guacamole with every bite I can see quite clearly I'm going to have one huge bite of it. She then attempts to roll the lopsided burrito, which doesn't work at all and just tears the tortilla and smears guacamole all over. Instead of remedying this mess of a burrito she just very quickly double wraps it in foil and squishes it all together forcefully, securing it for transport but doing God knows what to the insides.
We are now ready to checkout! We ask for some queso (hoping to replace the cheese) and chips only to find they are also out of chips. We did get some queso still, although I probably would have declined it if she had told us we would be charged for it even without the chips. I probably should have disputed that charge but by the time I noticed I was "so done" and just wanted to get our food. The woman serving our food was rude and dismissive the entire time, giving one word "nos" to many questions and NEVER ONCE apologizing for being out of things. A friendly and sympathetic employee could have gone a long way to help us forgive the terrible food, but instead she only added to the negative experience.
We were finally able to eat only to find that everything was cold and stale. The taco salad shell was rubbery and old, the beans and meat were cold and watery, and of course my burrito completely blew up inside the aluminum foil and I ended up dumping the contents to eat it with a fork. Neither of us finished our food and we ended up cooking a second dinner at home later. Sorry for the essay, but if you can't tell this was a frustrating experience. Taco del Mar is one of my girlfriends favorite places to eat, especially for the price, and I guarantee her word choice for this review would be far less PG than mine. This location is hurting the reputation of TDM and probably has very few...

I placed on line order that was supposes to be ready for pick up at 7:08pm. I placed the online order to avoid having to wait along period of time. When I arrived at 7:07pm I told the lady behind the counter I was here for the pick up order. She looked at me and said I haven't even started on this. Mind you she never even greeted us as we entered the building. Time went on and its now 7:25 and she still had not started our order and was helping people who had just came in. I ordered my food ahead of time to avoid the wait and feel like my online order should of been ahead the people who came in after I was there who did not have online orders. I finally got my order and left at 7:48pm. Even thought my order was suppose to be ready at 7:08pm.
The lady who was working there was not in a pleasant mood at all. As mentioned before she did not greet us when we arrived nor the other folks who came in. There was us and another person waiting and when another customer came in the door she literally threw her tongs down. Not professional at all. I am not sure if someone called in sick or they are short staffed or if it was close to closing time but this whole experience is not what I would want for my customer. The topper was when I got home and my order was not correct. Needless to say I will not...
