I loved LaFortune as a kid, it always seemed like one of the "fancier" parks to me, but that probably had something to do with the fact that the play equipment may have been some sort of recent over 15 years ago when I was small. Most of the playgrounds look like they haven't been upgraded or fixed in any way since then. Chunks are missing off several of the smaller play structures and there are cracks and damages that made me nervous my son would hurt himself. Everything is just so old that it's filthy and I ended up leaving pretty quickly to find a different park to play at. Super disappointing especially since they just spent who knows how much money building a brand new "Buffalo Herd Monument" consisting of 4 random Buffalo statues. It would be neat if it were in addition to some much needed playground upgrades but it just seems pretty out of touch. I still enjoy the walking trail which is the ONLY reason I gave it more than a single star but until they give the rest of the park some much needed TLC two is all I can muster and that still feels...
Read moreVery nice park, great for vigorous activities for adults, & great for holding events! For the children playground, I could see where improvement could be made. As well, for the handicap accessibility in landscaping. Nothing to much to nag about still manageable, I was still able in past get wheelchair people around the Park's destination with effort, and the children still play no matter. I love the 4k walk I did for diabetes in 'past tense' in support of my grandparents, once there @ LaFortune Park! Got take some goodies back to Rural area where my grandmother residential resigned. Have great conversation about health care, & how my Aunt work down the road at the hospital. Often my cousin's & I use this park for health actives! Nice Tulsans greet each other a lot as you will notice if giving this park a chance to walk the tracks, the park offers a nice tennis court, & beautiful scenic walkway! Very Big Park lot availability, with traffic light was very hopeful to this location for easy in coming & out going entrance into the...
Read moreWent to go play with our grandson and feed the ducks on Saturday, 23 August 10:00 AM… There are two people sleeping and camped out with their gear on a concrete picnic table where we were going to sit. I know every tax paying citizen has a right to enjoy the park. This was a temporary homeless camp. I called the office to report it, spoke with a young lady that told me that “nobody was working today” not about the time a guy was driving up on a gator four wheeler that worked there… I told her there is somebody working because he’s pulling up right now I we’ll just speak with him… He tried to pass the buck and say he needed to talk to a supervisor and I said well you’re gonna pass right by that table one if you just politely ask them to move on, this is not a homeless camp… Really getting tired of people passing the buck and seeing the homeless population grow and encroach on everybody that’s trying to...
