We found their ad featured on Facebook. Being Cajun food lovers, we decided to make the trip from the North side of Tulsa South to check em' out. We entered the restaurant, there were customers there but it wasn't packed. We stood at the door & podium waiting to be seated. And although several wait staff / employees saw us at the door, they looked our way and still didn't come to seat us. Approximately 5 minutes later, a young man approached and said, "two?" . . . . no, "Hello, sorry for your wait." No, "Hi, welcome in. Sorry for your wait. How many in your party?" He sat us at a table with our menus and walked off. We sat another, 5 minutes, and no one came to our table, we didn't have silverware or water while we waited. Just then, a white couple came in and immediately, a young woman greeted them at the door and sat them at a table. When she returned to the front podium, I asked to meet with her manager. When the manager approached our table, we introduced ourselves and shared that we lived on the North side of Tulsa and travelled over here (there) after seeing their ad on Facebook. We then politely shared our experience while waiting at the door for 5 minutes, our experience with the young man who sat us at the table, and our 5 minute wait on a server. We then questioned if only white people's money was accepted there, since there weren't any other Black people dining at the time we were there. While he stated that wasn't the case, he DIDN'T apologize for his employees' lack of attentiveness OR their poor customer service. Neither did he apologize TO US for experiencing poor service! By the time we finished our conversation, we decided to leave! Too bad we didn't have a better experience or get to try their food! But, after what we went through, we didn't want anyone spittin'...
Read moreVisited Red Door Grille for the first time and was greeted by a phenomenal server named Theo. Theo greeted us warmly and was passionate about the menu, he pointed out the most popular dishes plus his favorites. He didn't steer us wrong, we had the artichoke dip, which was cheesy, hot, fresh, and served with warm pita bread. Probably the best I've ever had, seriously. We tried the blackened Red fish, served on top of a delicious roux and paired well with perfectly cooked and seasoned rice and asparagus. The portions were huge so thank goodness I split the meal. I tried the blackberry bread pudding as well, it was rich, moist and flavorful. The cocktail menu has basic and sophisticated options at reasonable prices. I had the the French 75 cocktail with cognac, lemon, prosecco, simple syrup and I can't recall what else was in there but it was expertly crafted and delicious. I highly recommend Red Door Grille. They are also known for their short ribs which were already sold out for the day by the time we got there around 2pm. I'll be back to try other options. Don't walk, run over to Red Door Grille and have a cocktail and appetizer at the minimum during happy hour Monday thru Friday from 3 to 7. The prices and quality are fantastic. Split your entree or be prepa to take some home. Ask for Theo, he checks in on you, but not too much and knows the menu very well. For 4 craft cocktails, the large meal, appetizer and dessert we spent around $80. It was well worth it IMO. đ They have only been open a few months and seem to have worked through some of the new restaurant challenges. I expect them to continue to elevate as the practice continues quality improvement strategies based...
Read moreThe atmosphere was fun. Kind of a cool art deco style with an upscale feel to it. The service was horrible. The hostess wasnât very talkative, not at the hostess stand and needed to be found (talking to other staff) and spraying herself with an overwhelming perfume spray, which lingered. The waiter was way too busy talking with the other staff about todayâs new drama to refill drinks and had actually needed to be tracked down and asked for a ticket and a food box. My green beans were unseasoned and cold, obviously straight from a can. Itâs almost as if they added a few fresh green beans to a can of cold green beans, it felt as if I was eating them straight from a can. The mac and cheese wasnât horrible tasting. Definitely pulled from a fridge, microwaved and then had some cheese crisped on top. Didnât taste near good enough to charge over $14 for. I didnât realize my brisket sandwich didnât come with a top piece of bread, it was cold, but not horrible tasting. I wouldnât say it was good either though. Iâm assuming it was mash potatoes or hummus they had on the bread was pretty good, the brisket itself was not even close to what youâd get from any back alley bbq place. I enjoyed the Dijon mustard on it. It overall as very disappointing because it wasnât a sandwich and it wasnât warm. It was a cold bunch of mediocre ingredients placed on a piece of bread. I wonât be back. Even if it was priced a lot cheaper it still wouldnât be good food. But to be charged a premium price for that food was the straw breaker that lead me to write...
