Great gym. 10/10. Planet Fitness is a great deal. Even though its extremely cheap at $15 a month with a small annual fee the reality is near 70% of members don't come. If you're in the minority that use your membership, you'll get access to new equipment thats regularly maintained along with clean facilities. I have to reccommend going before work in the mornings or late at night - they're open most weekdays through the nights and open at 5am on Mondays and 7am on weekends. Anyone should be able to make it work.
A lot of people there don't know how to use the equipment correctly and they've likely taken free barbells away because of this (think bench press, deadlift, squat). You can do those exercises on a Smith machine (bar is mounted on a track with hydraulic resistance).
My only gripe with Planet Fitness is its a bit anti-fitness. No winning, no elite gym bodies - even though that is achievable for the average person with discipline. Watch their ads to see how they attack self-discipline and excellence. Discipline is off brand for them because their model is to get you to pay $180 a year and never come.
10 years ago they used to serve bagels and pizza at the door and regularly set off a "lunk alarm" for grunting during sets (still have this but never seen it set off) - I can't think of anything more...
Read moreThis place gets zero stars. They reel you in with all these good deals for the month. Than when you donât pay next months bill, and donât return to the facility in whole. They still have the nerve to charge you for each month, but yet if you try to go in for a work out you canât. The check in button is there on screen. When you press on the button it takes you to find a location. Like waitâŚ.You just charged me late fee and monthly fee and I canât go in. Not once, but 3 times ok. So you didnât get the hint when I didnât come back the first 3 months? But yet in order to become a member you want a card. And thatâs it of becoming a member here. All they want is a card so this can continue to happen if you fail to call in and cancel membership. Kinda sketchy if you ask me. And I paid for black card membership, â cancel -anytimeâ, membership. SoâŚ..Donât forget to call in or send a letter explaining why you want to cancel your membership. If not youâll have to go in an and sign a bunch of papers. I was an astonished that they didnât accept cash. Who doesnât accept cash? Planet fitness doesnât ! (Footnote) they donât allow you to place 0 stars. So I had...
Read moreBeen going to this gym since a few months after it opened a couple years ago. There is an annual fee (due in October of every year), a start up fee and a monthly fee when you sign up. The start up fee can be as little as $1 during promotions, the annual fee also varies based on promotions but the monthly fee is $10 for the basic plan and $20 for "black card" access which gives you access to tanning, massage chairs and hydro massage beds and also includes discounts on drinks, snacks, etc.
The staff is always friendly and management is very nice and listens to any suggestions and complaints you have. I've always been treated with respect there which is why I continue to go there. They have a lot of cardio machines and several cable machines, leg machines and a "360"machine which is a total body workout set that is very interesting. During peak hours it can get packed but normally you can still get to the machines you need after a short wait. My only complaint is there are no free weights other than dumbbells and some light curl bars, besides that it's a really good gym for people that have all different levels of exercise...
