I had an amazing experience at this store from start to finish! Noelle at the the Hoover store recommended I check out the Tuscaloosa store due to their huge clearance section, which has a wide variety of great pieces to choose from. It’s easily the best in the state.
While I ended up going with a non-clearance sofa, I have to say that Heather at the Tuscaloosa store is an absolute rockstar and delight to work with! She is thoughtful, thorough, and just an all-around good person.
She was beyond patient with me while I saved up over the course of nearly a year for a sofa. I came back to the store multiple times to sit/lay on so many couches, and she was there every time, not pressuring me into a sale, but giving me space when I needed it and was available to answer my questions when I needed it. She also asked great questions that I hadn’t considered, but ended up being essential!
Heather also has an expert eye for fabric selection, design, and functionality. When I finally decided on a sofa and brought some reference photos of my space, she helped pick what turned out to be the absolute best match to what I already had going on, in a fabric that will withstand wear and tear, and in colors that are beautifully coordinated without being too matchy-matchy. Heather found the perfect fabric for the pillows, too, and advocated for something I ended up unexpectedly loving! It was so fun working with her!
She also understood and respected my budget, and informed me of all the payment options available, which I appreciated immensely. There was no pressure to do anything I was uncomfortable doing.
My sofa came in exactly on time, and delivery was a breeze! There was a slight issue with the sofa after delivery, but it was an easy fix that didn’t affect the structure or appearance of the sofa. Customer service was so kind and prompt in contacting me to schedule a tech to come out—I only had to wait a couple of days. The tech who came by was also kind and on-time. An added bonus, he explained what was going on as he was working, which my curious mind appreciated.
Since delivery, I am in love with what Heather and I ended up creating, and know this will be a sofa that will stand the test of time. It’s solid with great construction, the fabric is durable yet soft, and it looks great. I am so excited to finally be able to have company over! The older I get, the more I realize that there are a couple of things that are worth spending a little extra money on—a mattress, and a sofa.
Growing up, my family trusted Havertys with their important furniture needs, and as an adult myself, I now understand why! The entire team was wonderful, and they back up their word with a solid product and services. If I find myself needing any other quality investment pieces in the future, I’d skip the other places and come here first again in a heartbeat. I believe this standard of excellence shows in each of their stores, but shines especially brightly here.

Read moreI purchased an Alexis Electric Recliner from Haverty’s and it has been the worst piece of furniture I have ever had, something I am not accustomed to when purchasing from Haverty’s. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty, even though that has been a nightmare too. I noticed a space between the right arm of the chair that should not have been there almost immediately after purchase. You could see to the floor looking down through the chair. Also, after a short time, the back of the chair looked like it needed more padding. I called and made a claim and they sent someone to fix it. He added padding and tried to make an adjustment to the seat. It was evident at the time that the chair was not properly assembled from the beginning. A week later the seat was just like before. Now the chair pops when I recline and it leans to the right…I feel like I am going to fall out of it. I filed another claim in May 2024. They did not follow up on this claim until July 2024, where upon they ordered a part. I still have not received that part and have not had a call regarding this claim and it is now October. Now, in regards to the chair, I feel like I am literally going to be dumped in the floor when I recline. They also didn’t address the gaping hole in the seat of the chair. I can feel the wood and sharp staples sticking out of the wood if I stick my hand in the gaping hole. I tried to go through proper channels and tried to be patient, but this is unacceptable. I have been a loyal Haverty’s customer for 44 years but I won’t purchase from them again if this is not resolved to my satisfaction. I feel like i have been paying for a defective chair from the beginning and, despite following protocol outlined by the extended warranty, the overall problems are something no buyer should face with a brand new piece...
