Ive since spoken to management and this review is based on my experience purchasing an engagement ring.
Long story short verbal agreements were made as to when a down-payment for a borrowed diamond would be paid. They gave me 2 weeks to pay half... few days later after said agreement was made I get a SINGLE call letting me know diamond was shipped back, yes shipped back, whether it was miscommunication or not thats what was told to me and to make things worse they didn't know where it was because it was in transit, I never got notified prior and if I want the diamond back I have to pay full price ASAP. Obviously they lied about shipping it back.
It's disgusting how they can blindly make deals and play with my emotions. This was supposed to be a beautiful experience and they made it a nightmare. I absolutely fell in love with the stone and that's the ONLY reason I continued to do buisness with them. They should have honored the agreement and hashed it out with the vendor by paying the other half and having our backs ( as the clients who were going to pay the diamond regardless) but instead they saved themselves and their relationship with the vendor and left me and my fiance to deal with the consequences of their sloppy business arrangements.
They made me feel like they took advantage of me and it was a sales tactic to gain thousands of dollars from one day to another and of course management blames the vendor. Sadly there was nothing to do other than speak to management about how they made me feel and write this review for those future brides to just be weary of any "deals" they wanna give you.
I'm very blessed to have relatives that support me and I was able to accumulate the funds the next day to get my dream diamond after a year of diamond viewings.
Lastly Nadia from the special orders department is a gem! She's been the best part of this whole experience and has made customizing my ring such a nice experience. She's so knowledgeable and very easy to talk to about the process and what would look best. She genuinely cares about the design and how it will work in the long run and I'm very much grateful she has my best interest.... atleast...

If you are here because you went here and were lied to, continue reading.
I came here this last Sunday on 10/8/2018 to buy a necklace for my girlfriend. She picked out a black diamond that was less than 1 carat, and a small pendant that it would fit into. It comes with a complimentary necklace. We were told this would be done by the next day and the total was around $600.
Next day arrives and I get a call from the Jewelry Exchange and the representative told me they were going to weld the necklace and noticed the necklace is weak, the one that comes complimentary with the diamond. They told me that if I were to use this necklace that the pendant would eventually fall off because it's so weak. I need to pick a better necklace which would add approximately another $100. I wouldn't be mad at all if they told me this before - but they waited until they already set the necklace into the pendant to tell me this. This is why I think their tactics are predatory. I've seen their commercials on TV when I was a baby. There's no way that they don't know to tell you that the complimentary necklace won't be sufficient. They upsell you after you've already given them money, do some of the labor so now you can't even ask for a refund. Hilarious coincidence that they could not in their 20+ years of business see this coming from their...well 20 years in business. That lets me hypothesize it's by design. This is completely sleazy and never mentioned before.
So I will tell you what they will not: if you are getting jewelry made here, ask that it will be the final price, have them write that down and make sure there will be no additional costs. Better yet, DON'T COME HERE.
If you have been fooled the same way as I have, please feel free to message me with your story and we can see if this will fit into legal action. The only way shady business learn their lesson is if people keep...
Read moreAfter a recommendation, my son went to the Sudbury store to purchase an engagement ring. Upon choosing a round 1 carrot diamond, he then chose a hidden halo setting, and the invoice was written up as such. When he went to pick up the ring, he found the setting was not a hidden halo. The setting was a halo but not what was ordered originally. This setting was for a very large diamond, hence the halo surrounded the diamond, looked a bit ridiculous. The original salesperson was on vacation for the summer and he then worked with the manager. The manager said she didn't have a hidden halo setting to fit the diamond within their inventory and suggested that he purchase a larger diamond, a ridiculous statement indeed. He then called the corporate office in California and worked with the district manager. He is a very nice gentlemen and couldn't do enough to assist in making it right! The district manager found a halo setting that fit and shipped to the Sudbury store for the ring to be reset. The experience encountered at this store was very unpleasant and should be a happy time concerning a new engagement. My son gave his fiance the ring and a week later a diamond chip on the band fell out. The ring was too big so as a stop gap measure his fiance got a ring guard until they could get back to Sudbury for their ring sizing and diamond chip replaced. The store is an 1.5 hours away. They told my son that the warranty is now void because a ring guard was put on the ring and then charged him for the diamond chip replacement and sizing! We will never again do business at this store. Not sure what they were thinking, now Jewelry Exchange won't have the opportunity to earn their business for (2) wedding bands! I'm giving this particular store a one star rating but would give the district manager located in California a 5...
