Desi Cuts & Color Plus — Attraction in Union City

Updated: This place used to be very good before. I guess the services have gone downhill now.

I went here couple of weeks back to get my haircut done and they still had one hour for closing. I was told that they couldn’t do my haircut because one of them was leaving home to do DoorDash and the other guy asked me to wait for at least half hour as he was with another customer and he didn’t even guarantee whether he would be able to do my haircut. They were just discussing among themselves as to who will be able to do the haircut and the one who was about to head home to do DoorDash was least bothered to even try to ask what I need.

It felt like I was there to get my haircut for free. Luckily I found another place to do my haircut. I am never visiting this place again.

One suggestion to those who are reading this review: If you are planning to go here for haircut please don’t go. They don’t care for their customers and they are not fairly priced either. Look for some other place. It’s an absolute waste of your time.

Updated: responding to the owners response: It is ok to two take jobs even three jobs is not sufficient these days. I am not against that. But when a customer is waiting, let them know for sure whether you can do the haircut or not rather than just asking among yourselves who has time and can attend the customer. They are not coming to your saloon for free and your service from my experience is one of the costliest in Bay Area and I am ok to pay that. Desi cuts is a great place to get a haircut, that is, if you don't mind waiting; however, the wait time shouldn't be looked down upon as aninconvenience, it is perhaps the opposite of that. With plenty of people to converse with, this Barber Shop serves its purpose of being both a Barber Shop and a hang out place (Historically, that's what Barber Shops were meant to be, somewhere that you can hang out, talk to people, and get a haircut) What I love best about this place is that, Mandeep (The owner of the establishment) was able to accommodate to my needs of having a bald spot. He does a fantastic job cutting my hair and concealing the bald spot, it's almost as if I don't even have a bald spot. The only downside, for me at least, are the tapers. I like to get my hair tapered from the sides and back, but the tapers do not always turn out clean. However, I learned that if you remind Mandeep to do a good job on the tapers he will deliver on the request, after all, he didn't go to a Barber school and get a license for no reason, now did he? Got appointment a day before, showed up today and they said you don’t have appointment.

I showed I called you (exact time) & they verified that there was a call from me.

Kamal said I’m doing your haircut but you don’t have an appointment even after I showed I called them & they verified. The whole time he was rude, not interested in cutting my hair at all and was talking to some singer legend who was here for shaping his beard. Additionally, messed up my hair style and did left to right instead of right to left and was then arguing that you are wrong. Luckily there was another helper who had helped me earlier and said I’m right and my hair goes from right to left.
