S.D.E.S. Portuguese Hall of Alvarado — Attraction in Union City

S.D.E.S has one of the best crab feeds! We just went Dec 2, 2023 and Feb 3, 2024. They serve cold and cioppino style. They have salad and bomb a$$ garlic bread, but don't eat too much of those, save room for crab! Bring your butter warmer, i put butter and minced garlic in mine. Don't forget your tea lights, matches or lighter and crab crackers/cutters. They also serve unlimited soda fountain drinks, red and white wine. If your there early, you can stay late to dance because there's also a deejay in the front room. First Crab Feed since the pandemic!! Haven’t been back to the hall in over three years! Live music, chips and dips, Jack Daniels drinks, raffles, tasty crab boil, cold crab, garlic bread, salad and much more! Must have eaten at least 6 crabs by myself. I enjoyed having the garlic bread soak up in the boil broth (like sopas). We brought in a bag with crab picks, scissors, crackers, tea lights for butter melting, salt n pepper with lemon, and red wine vinegar. These were perfect accoutrements for the crab! Great facility! I've been going here for decades as part of the organization that owns the club. This venue is terrific for weddings, quincineras, birthdays and anything else you might need a hall rental for! In addition to their awesome Portuguese Holy Ghost festa that usually happens in May, they also host two awesome Crab Feeds that are open to the public every year too! I was also there recently for their 4th annual car show, and that was great, too! ...
