My sewing machine repair experience was so far beyond poor, there aren't other words to describe what happened.
I sent my machine out to this repair center to get it fixed at the beginning of January to be fixed. I called to make sure they received my machine, and the gentleman who answered the phone, sounded like he couldn't be bothered to talk to anyone. After deciding to actually take a look to verify my machine was delivered, he told me the machine would be looked at over the weekend to early next week.
I hadn't heard anything within the week, so I called up there again to check on the status. I spoke to Valerie, who seemed nice enough, and told me the only person qualified to work on my machine came in once a week. This would have been nice to know when I sent out my initial emails to this facility.
Two weeks gone by, still no updates. I would call in multiple times a day, just to get a voicemail every single time, and no response to any of my emails that were sent as well. When I finally was able to talk to someone, they sounded inconvenienced once again. The man I talked to rushed me off the phone and told me the tech would call me. He never did.
I called again during week 3, and Valerie told me my sewing machine was ready to go. That's it. No one went over what repairs were done, or what was fixed. Just said it was waiting for UPS. I finally received it today, and they sent the wrong accessories back to me... that don't even fit my machine.
These people were so unpleasant to work with. The customer should NEVER have to chase someone down when it comes down to a repair on their product. The employee should be calling to update the customer on the repair progress, and should be up front with the client every step of the way. They purposely ignored phone calls and emails. And their lack of competence was unacceptable. I can't even verify if my machine is working properly because they sent back the wrong foot pedal, otherwise I'd comment on my repair I had done as well.
If I didn't have to leave stars on a review, I certainly wouldn't have left one. They haven't earned the star I'm giving them. I would never recommend this facility to anyone with a sewing machine or a brain...
Read moreBruce is hardworking and competent. He seems to be the only person on site. Canât get anyone on the phone. We were promised that parts will be received and warranty repair done in a week and we will be called. After waiting for three weeks, I called many many times. I notice if you call at opening time someone might pick up. A couple of days ago a woman picked up the phone but had no clue about the status of our machine. She promised to call later in the day. We are still waiting. Very frustrating. But this place in Union is the only one in tristate area. A very damning experience with Singer customer service. I would never buy a Singer Machine again.
Update on 8/19/23: Went to pick up the machine since we received a call (celebrations!) that it was ready. The caller just said that and hung up. Their Google info site says they open on Fridays from 10 to 5. We reached yesterday around 10:45 but saw a closed sign saying they will return at 11. Till 11:20 no one was around. Again calling them repeatedly proved to be futile. We left then, again without our machine. Will have to look for another day to make the long trip.
I think they work HARD to lose customers and are good at it. I wonder how many people swear off zinger after such after-sale and warranty service experience. I would expect a reputed brand like Singer to urgently fix this issue but it seems they donât care. I wonder what has happened to yet another...
Read moreI should have known better from the start! The phone call I made in reference to the need for a sewing machine repair was reason enough NOT to take my business there. The repair person was very short with me as well as rude.. After 2 weeks without a call, and after numerous attempts to reach them, they decided that the machine was repaired. When I got the machine home, not only did he break the tabs off the plastic where it snaps together, but upon turning the machine on, I discovered that NOTHING was done to fix it! I had the same failure as when I dropped it off! He LIED right to my face and thought nothing of it! When I called Singer to complain, they told me to take it back to him to fix the tabs as well as the original problem!!! Are you kidding me??? I wouldn't DARE take any machine to this place for ANY reason....they don't even deserve the 1 star!!! The shop is a horrible mess, machines all over the floor with absolutely no organization. They haven't kept up with the technology of the sewing machine business, so their knowledge is lacking. Its quite obvious this establishment needs a serious lesson in computer technology and customer service skills. Im totally disappointed...
