A great moderate sized park that was recently renovated. I wish they had done this years back when I was a child when I could have made full use of my youthful energy.
It features: Track Fields Multiple Tennis Courts Baseball Stadium Multiple Exercise Stations Multiple Basketball Courts Children's playgrounds Water Sprinklers A tiny pier Sun bathing recliners Chess tables Dog walking paths A historical river path And a small art section
There are often movie showings, musical events, and small community festivals here. It's an open park until 8-9pm when cops start patrolling and expulse people.
If there is a negative to this parI, it's as follows.
A miner negative is the lack of doggie bags for public use. It's best to bring your own, but there are so mamy empty stations as to annoy some.

The big problem is the river. It is stinky and polluted. With trash floating everywhere. It's a hazard to be near and an unfortunate result of Newarks industrial era. The river still has traces of cancer causing Radium and Agent Orange. Neither safe for fishing or swimming. A shame considering this area used to famous for it's oysters.
Overall a great place to go, but marred by the damage done in the past by unscrupulous industry and a...

Im there atleast once a week...
