Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Union

Part 2 of my Union Township exploration. Today I wanted to try Habit Burger and Grill, I've seen other locations before but since I have to wait in Union Township for my Daughter...why not try it !!! I downloaded the app and registered and received a free charburger offer with a purchase of a drink. It's a win win because I ordered lunch for myself and gave the charburger to my daughter, and I only had to get a drink. I walked inside and they have kiosks to order which I prefer to use. I was intrigued by the sirloin sandwich. I left most the toppings so I can taste how it was intended to be served except BBQ sauce. As much as I love BBQ sauce it doesn't love me lol 🤣🤣. So that was the only thing I omitted. I added a side of onion rings which comes with a choice of sauce. I left the default Ranch. While I waited ...it is busy its lunch time... I gathered my ketchup (I forgot I didn't order fries don't judge my memory lapse) they have a hot pepper station and I grabbed some pickled jalapeños. I had ordered a drink for my daughter and a bottle water for me. They give you your drinks when your order is given. I didn't wait long for my order despite them being busy. Now my tummy excitement to try this sirloin sandwich. Everything came very presentable and appetizing. Now have an open mind people this is a fast food restaurant and even though I eat my steaks medium rare to medium ...common sense was the sirloin was going to be cooked to the stores recipe. So that's why I didn't get my panties in wad upset.... I enjoyed the sandwich as is. The sirloin is a thin cut and seasoned despite being a sirloin it was not chewy or tough. It placed on toasted ciabatta bread with garlic aioli topped with aged white cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes and grilled onions. It was very good and the toasty edges of the bread tasted like garlic bread 😋 yummmyyyy. The onion rings done perfectly to give it a crunch when you bite into them. Not soggy at all. I didn't care for the ranch the onion rings were seasoned so I didn't need extra flavor. Towards the end of me eating the sandwich I tossed in the jalapeños ...it was yummy additional tang and kick to the sandwich. So if you have to wait for someone in the union Township area near Kean University and you're hungry ...give Habit a go!! It's really good and filling ☺️ I definitely recommend...

I patronized this restaurant for the second time yesterday. The first time, the female employee behind the counter seemed a bit hyper and was a little jumpy regarding UberEats orders vs. In-person customer orders. I was put off by her demeanor, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. When I got home, I noticed my order was incorrect. I ordered no tomatoes and got tomatoes, no Mayo and I got Mayo. The food was tasty nonetheless, so I decided to give them another try. On 1/22/22 I went back and ordered at the kiosk. My son ordered a combo meal that should have included French fries. Once I got home, my son alerted me to the fact that his fries were missing. I immediately called the restaurant, only to be routed to their online comment/concerns form. I completed the form, explaining that I did not receive fries with my order despite being charged for the full value meal. I have not heard anything from the restaurant, no apology, no acknowledgement of receiving my email, nothing. Due to the poor customer service, being charged for missing items, and an overall lackluster experience, I will not be returning to this location. It’s a pity because the food is actually good, but the service needs major improvement.

Update-I was contacted by Habit Burger MGMT. they offered an apology and a suitable remedy to the situation. I feel like they actually value their customers, which is nice. I will return to the location and hopefully the customer service will have improved, and they are more organized. It’s nice to have tasty non-meat options nearby. It would be a shame if their customer service was...

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this location to people. I had just moved across the street to the apartments. I had visited during move in day and although the food took forever it was good I decided to try again. Took my family here total four people. We wanted to order a family meal however we were told we have to order from the self service kiosk. We asked if we can have one of the chicken sandwiches crispy instead of grilled. They said no problem. When the meal about 30mins later, with the grilled not crispy chicken sandwich, finally came out the staff kept on starring at us and discussing amongst themselves. Finally we were approached "you guys ordered an extra crispy sandwich however you didn't pay for it". No we already have the grilled one here we asked for a substitute since the machine did not allow. My brother already bit the grilled one. The staff member left looking flustered. After talking to a gentlemen that was sitting in the corner ( that kept on going to the kitchen and getting complimentary tenders and fries plus refills of soda) the staff member says " My manager told me we have to charge you guys I am really sorry" hands us the extra not needed at this point sandwich, "no rush you can pay when ready". Five minutes later again "sorry to bother you guys can you please pay my manger is furious". It is unfortunate because I live 3mins by foot. Wont be dining here ever again and recommending you all...
