I’ve been coming to the YMCA for fitness and wellness, but I’m genuinely disappointed in what’s being promoted at the front desk. Instead of supporting a healthy lifestyle, I consistently see cupcakes, cookies, and other sugary snacks being sold,right at the entrance of a gym.
It feels completely counter to the mission of promoting health and wellness. Members pay to improve their physical health, and the offerings should reflect that. Where are the protein bars, healthy snacks, sports drinks, or even just water? This sends a mixed message and undermines the purpose of why many of us are here.
