I hate being this person, I am pretty calm, I try to be understanding but I’ve had my couch for now a year today…. A YEAR! It broke sometime end of march to early April I reported as soon as I figured it out. I’ve been working with Speedy Furniture of Irwin, Karen and Ken the owners of the store. Since I reported in End of March/Early April, they sent out Danyos furniture on May 8th 2022. The repair guy advised needed a whole new piece, contacted Ken who advised he’d get it ordered. Early July contacted Ken again…. Advised the part was in, just came in. Danyo and I went back and forth with scheduling and finally got scheduled August 13th 2022… they come out the guy didn’t have all the parts to fix it….The guy never tells his company he was unable to complete job called when he said he’d be out the following Saturday Aug 20th… they have to schedule me September 17th…. They come out the 17th fix the couch Yay!!! September 20th couch steel beam breaks again… I call Ken, Karen and Danyo and report this. speedy never calls back… Danyo calls after multiple attempts… tells me they told Ken it can’t be fixed. I called multiple times finally get a hold of Ken end of September 2022… he tells me they will order a entire new piece but it’s on back order. I say okay understood…. called all of November told Ken would call back within 48hrs each time… Ken never called…. Karen never called… text Karen November 22, 2022 Karen says she will contact Ashley to report it’s broken, and see what they said. I text back asking about the order and that Ken said that the piece was ordered in September…. She never responds…. We ask an update no response for days then she says “we have not heard back from Ashley yet”…. I call Ashley they can’t give update because it’s not handled through them…. Karen, and Ken still no response my couch has been broken for 8 months.… November 28th I contact Donny/Danny who is corporate with Speedy Funiture nice guy as well… he says He,Karen, Or Ken would contact me back with a resolve…. No one has called or texted…I write a review they respond and wonder why I didn’t report the bed being broken too… ummm look at my couch situation and you want me to report the bed not supporting my mattress too? My husband build something to fix it…. I left messages at corporate, I’ve left messages at Latrobe store, I’ve contact magistrate and will have to file with them. I’ve filed with the attorney general and the BBB…. I just want a resolution.
Get no response via phone or text.
Horrible company… Nice people… horrible business…. I asked for a refund July 31,2022 because this wasn’t even the furniture I ordered back in April 2021 that furniture was unavailable so I went with what Karen picked out for us…. Read moreI ordered a desk chair back on May 8th. I was told that because of the shortage of foam that they did not carry the chair I desired and it had to come from the warehouse and while it usually takes a couple weeks, it could take a month. No problem, I waited it out. After the month time-frame passed, I would call just for an update on the chair's progress.
It was at this time that I started to get the runaround, claims that their point person at the warehouse was on vacation, so they had no idea if it was even AT the warehouse, OR at another one of their stores.
That answer, honestly, was refreshing, because a couple times WHEN I would call, they wouldn't answer the phone at all, and sometimes, they would claim they'd call and let me know the progress, but they never did.
Finally, when they said the chair had arrived at another store, they claimed they'd let me know this on June 23rd, but I got no such phone call of arrival as of June 25th. It was at that time that I just got fed up and decided to contact the BBB, because it's obvious that something was turning up sour here.
As of the time that I am typing this (The Fourth of July) I have gotten my refund back, but I had to open a dispute/claim through the credit card that I used to pay for it initially in order to get the money back. How my card company and these fine folks settle the money issue is between them, but frankly, I don't care anymore because I got my money back, and if that chair ever does show up, they can use it to put books on it, or sofa seats, or something, because it's of little use to me now.
This is was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a furniture store, and if every other store of their ilk went of business tomorrow and I needed a bed, I'd sleep on the bloody...
Read moreI've been going back and forth with Speedy Furniture since 2022. I ordered a full set which included a couch, loveseat, chair and ottoman in 2021. The order took a year and a half to receive. After receiving, the couch was defective and the ottoman had shifted. I had to wait several months for repair. After several calls and emails, they finally scheduled the repairs. Once the repair man showed up, he stated he only came to fix the couch. I asked him if he were also going to make repairs to the ottoman? He took pics of the ottoman and stated he would have to request materials and once received he would return. I've never heard from him again. I continued to contact Speedy Furniture and would get the same spiel over and over again "We only have one repair company and he is booked". Speedy Furniture of Irwin eventually went out of business and I were told to contact Speedy's of Latrobe. They sent out a repair guy in August 2023 who came with a covering for my ottoman. The covering did not match and the guy said he would have to order the correct piece. I'm not sure how a cover would have solved the issue. I've been in contact with the Manager Scott on several occasions. I emailed him pictures of the ottoman and he stated he would get in contact with Ashley Furniture about a replacement. A month and a half ago I contacted Scott again and was told that my ottoman came in and as soon as they had another delivery in my area they would bring it. I never received anything. I then recently went to BBB due to no response from Scott. He reached out told me he would handle things and never responded after. Unfortunately BBB closed my complaint as Speedy Furniture...
