BEYOND aggravated with this organization. For one, I can NEVER get ahold of anyone here. Ive called THREE (plus) times and no one answers. I called at a decent hour around 1:40pm and used 3 different extensions (operator, front desk then the director). I called the day before and also couldnt get ahold of anyone. Well, I ended up physically going there and there was someone sitting RIGHT at the front desk playing on her laptop while the phones voicemail was blinking! I asked her about the program and she told me she couldnt get ahold of the person running it because they were in the garden. Then, I went to the garden found a group (assuming this was the correct one) and was told it was a private tour in a not very kind way. So, after all that I had to drag my 3 year old back to our car after looking like a complete and utter fool. This place is unorganized and complete chaos. I called to speak to the director but if that cant resolve any issues Im going higher up the chain because absolutely no one should feel unwelcomed. As for the individual playing on their laptop ignoring calls they should be immediately terminated or at least reprimanded for their...

Earlier this year I moved to a different location and have struggled to find parks. I got a late start to my day so driving to my usual spot wasn't in the cards. I stumbled upon this place and am really glad I did. I assumed such a small area surrounded by roads would not really be the greatest birding and nature adventure, but I was floored by how many sightings and interactions I had. There were golden crowned kinglets who I often struggle to see due to size perching only a foot above my head and juvenile yellow bellied sapsuckers in the tree right in front of me among a ton of other birds. This was during a very short visit near the end of the day. Also encountered many mammals- deer, groundhogs, grey and red squirrels, possible rabbits and raccoons darting into the tall grass. There's just enough light that you don't have to worry about losing track of time in the evening and getting...

Apparently none of you have encountered the multiple loose dogs that I have. I used to run here and also walk my dog. I would visit several days a week and it was great except for the people who think it is their own private dog park. I had to stop bringing my dog here. She is always leashed and it was not safe for her. Then I stopped running here for over a year. Last night I returned because it was such a nice evening. Again, there was a loose dog that lunged in front of me and nearly tripped me. I am a nationally ranked athlete. If I get injured I WILL sue--that is not a question. The owner proceeded to shout at me that I shouldn't be there and think I own the place. Because of HIS loose dog. This place needs to ban dogs period. I love dogs but idiots are ruining it here. Not to mention all those who don't pick...

Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve is such a peaceful and fun place to explore! 🐝 #getoutside #wpnr #latrobepa #westmorelandcounty

This place is AMAZING! I stopped here with my mother and two sons (ages 8 and 10) and they were all enthralled! We are a nature loving family but this place far exceeded all expectations and we didn’t probably get to see 1/2 of it! We spent most of our time at the children’s play and explore area. My sons really enjoyed “making” me mud muffins, pizza, and more at the kitchen area. There are walking trails we didn’t even have time to explore. So we will definitely visit again soon! Thank you to those who envisioned this beautiful place and to those who keep it up on a daily basis. It’s a true gem!

I’ve been here before, but I decided to check out some paths. I have not tried yet. This place is always very peaceful and serene. I only work about 10 minutes from here so when I get time some days, even though it is in the opposite direction, I come here just to get some exercise in.I saw lots of bunnies early this morning. I would recommend checking this place out if you want somewhere, you can take a nice walk. If this place was closer, I would bring the family here for our evening walks.
