In response to the owner. Changed to 1 star
My review on the price you were offering for the comics was simple 12 dollars on a comic going for 40 dollars if I do it myself.
The decision to leave and not sell ANYTHING (no transaction) was about how your worker responded, and not even to me but about me, and loud enough purposely so I could hear it. The guy at the register quickly ran off to go speak with the other guy as we were completing the transaction. You made an offer, which did not state I had to sell anything in particular, to include the guy that said it... He was involved with looking at everything. All comics were placed in stacks ranging from 12 dollars, 8 dollars, 4 dollars and 2 or 3 dollars.
A more PROFESSIONAL response would have been breaking it down as to "how you operate" and that you would buy them all if you could get the others that would sale fast. Saying indirectly to others in the store "I wouldn't buy any of that since we couldn't get those" as we were finalizing everything is rude. That should have been a conversation for in your back office right? Away from the customer maybe?
Hopefully others can see how the owner responded. Not addressing the lack of customer service and rudeness of the employee. Owner doesn't see anything wrong with how things were handled. I wonder if it was the same employee that crushed the kids heart in another review about his Pokémon card? Offers should be discussed in PRIVATE among employees to prevent conflict and confusion with customers. If that would've happened, and the employee came back and stated "no purchase unless we could get them all". I wouldn't have a problem. Offer was made on each individual magazine, not as a group.
To make it simple... IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY, IT'S HOW YOU SAY IT and when you said it.
Original Review: I came in here yesterday and was impressed by their selection. I decided to come back today to sell some comics. Different staff in the front and definitely a different experience. After being low balled on the price for 4 comics. I decided to sell everything but those 4. I had a total of 25. He then walked off and told the other workers "I wouldn't buy any of that, since we can't get the two that would sell fast". It's not that serious to me, never about the money, it was more of a sentimental value and the offer wasn't high enough. I recommend going somewhere else. That's just a rude way to...
Read moreIf you like comics, trading cards, collectibles and more than this is the place to go. The staff is friendly for the most part and generally helpful. I came here years ago when they took $20 down payment to start your own comic subscription but if I recall correctly, they no longer do that and is now free. Though the $20 dollars were refundable if you were to cancel your subscription but since I still have one and it is free now, I wonder if that still applies to me if I ever decide to cancel?? Hope it's clarified if that day comes. They also have a bigger main location in the NW side of town but it's a bit far from me and rather not deal with any possible traffic. Besides, this place is just as good. The only other differences other than location, square footage, and amount of things they carry on-hand would be that they have better events such as guest appearances (one of my few gripes). Oh and just for references, to those looking to sell their treasures, the NW location is where they do business on certain days if not by appointment. But like I said, the PB location is...
Read moreI use to go to this shop and even had a subscription there to get several comics. After numerous times with overall rude staff and most of the time them being more concerned about talking to their buddies about Magic then helping customers check out or help with questions about comics I left and went somewhere else. Every so often I go back since I live in the area because the shop I frequent wont have a back issue I need or I have a general question about something comic related. Every time I go back the staff make me feel like I am an inconvenience to them when I ask them something. I am not the type of person who goes around bashing sites because my feelings get hurt over one time. Time and again I have gone back trying to see if things have improved but they never do. Again it is sad because I drive an extra 20 minutes out of my way just to not go to this place and go to...
